Five Below — Local services in Abilene

Great prices, Fun store but not the best quality. I took my uncle BooBoo to five below after him complaining my ears off about how his last yoga mat has baseball sized holes in it, so I agreed he needed a new one after I saw it for myself. I decided I didn’t want to spend $80 on a yoga mat from target anymore that would soon be bound to have giant holes covering the mat, so I took my lucky uncle to good ol five below. We enter the doors and i immediately lose my uncle. Uncle BooBoo took off sprinting to the candy section was about 10 plus shelf’s and about 7 buckets of candy. Uncle BooBoo quickly forgot all about his need for a yoga mat and instead insisted he needed skittles and gummy worms coated in sugar and corn syrup 🤦‍♂️pulling my uncle out of the candy bin was like trying to pull a pig out of their mud baths. After I finally pull the crazy man out of the endless buckets of candy he was digging through, I reminded him why we had come in the first place. Uncle BooBoo took lead again and went off searching for a lime green yoga mat. After we found the workout section he got busy playing with the 2lb hand weights they had for display. This was worse than the candy section. And it sure didn’t end there. My uncle then starts trying to challenge people to do a pull up contest against him and that’s when the manager got called… my uncle then asks why they only have hot pink and blue yoga mats. That was embarrassing. We then were asked to leave pretty quickly after that, luckily I grabbed the pink one and uncle BooBoo said he would buy green sharpies and get to coloring it the next day. I honestly used to love shopping at five below, but for the last year here in Abilene the employees are absolutely terrible. I always dread checking out due to the rude employees that are hungry for good reviews. I’ve seen over 30 times where they cut in between a customer and and put the number 9 for their high ranking. They’ve done it to me so many times. It’s sad watching how they have to force a good ranking on their store instead of earning it. The ladies will also sit there right behind you and monitor you. Like I’ve had multiple times where I literally could hear the lady breathing because she was so close to me. I feel absolutely pressured when I check out there. The last time I was there was last week and the lady was pressuring me and I finally said that I knew what I was doing. Then she mockingly respond “sorry” with an attitude. I finally called the manager who was very kind to me about the situation, but I absolutely think they need to step up and do something about the ranking because I swear on the Bible that they have not actually earned any of those actual good rankings. I love shopping here !!! Amazing store !!! But the lady who runs it on the other hand….. just an unpleasant nasty lady. I went in dressed in a barely cropped shirt and I’m assuming that’s why she was so horribly rude to me. As an employee told me after she is very old schooled and won’t even hire people with red hair…. But first I ask the cashier if they are hiring she was very nice and kind and said “yes we are hiring many positions!!” So I Ask who the manger was find her in the store and say “hi ! Are you the manager?” And she ever so rudely gives me “you’re wasting my time look “ and says “yeah.😐” and I go “hi my name is Emma and I’m looking for a second job-“ she VERY RUDELY cuts me off and says “we’re fully staffed “ and goes back to stocking… what a rude lady…. Well I’m certainly grateful I dodged that bullet. Sorry it’s 2021 and I decided to show a tiny strip of my stomach when wearing high waisted pants. Doesn’t mean I deserve to be LIED to and not be given the time of day. I also talked to a couple employees about their experience and yeah….. they hate you….. you make people’s lives worse .
