Olive Garden Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Abilene

07/23/2023 time was 330pm CDT First time ever at any Olive Garden, I went with a friend and we ordered endless breadsticks, endless salad, endless soups and our main course we ordered the seafood fettuccine alfredo( shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection hats off to the chef!) 😁. We got so full we didn't even order dessert. I did order some carbonated water which was excellent if I may say. Along with the breadsticks we ordered all three dips even though we only had two as we got full from the first two. We ordered the five cheese marinara and the Alfredo marinara. We also ordered one appetizer The fried ziti pasta five cheese. It seemed like our service was rushed slightly as we had our breadsticks in our first step they brought our salads and soups immediately together I haven't even touched my salad when they brought our main course(they could have given us time to enjoy more of our food) but it was excellent regardless.and we spent only about an hour and a half there. As for the food 4.9/5 I enjoyed the breadsticks and the salad and the soup gnocchi and chicken soup is to die for. I wasn't sure about the marinara for me it tasted slightly very slightly off... Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. Our waitress was very kind, and very experienced and left a decent tip as was customary. Would I ever go to Olive garden again heck yes I would. The price ranges were little high for what I'm used to but hey this was my first trip to Olive Garden. Great service great food and great atmosphere. My compliments to the chef and compliments to the waitress and the manager for great service. We ended up taking home half of our main entree as we were full. I ate it later and it was great just as it was on the table, I couldn't help but notice the table next to me did not receive Superior service like we did and had to wait at least 25 minutes before receiving their first dish I have to say they could have done better with that service although it was a different waitress and different clientele. Olive garden you did great but you can do slightly better, as a chef myself I enjoyed every bite the service could have been slightly better but I did enjoy every morsel. The price was steep to my liking however with the options given, and my first time do Olive garden have to say...

I’m going to say tonight my server was not patient, attentive and nor was she giving me respectable service I deserved. I didn’t feel valued As a patron. That’s my favorite part of being a server is making them leave happier than they came in. If you’re under stress team up baby we all gotta stick together. But she had just got her cut so was ignoring her tables and rolling silverware supposedly. I will specifically ask for a more experienced server next time. You have a lot to learn young padawan. As a server myself among cook and host I’ve done it all (I give the service I want in return) I know what I like and what is acceptable behavior at a restaurant this was not. The 2nd to last table you had was on their second date… that’s sad when they can’t learn of each other during a meal with adequate service. That’s all they could talk about was how the service was bad. The waitress was never there. I had to get up multiple times to find her, as did they. I will be calling in tomorrow cause this is not okay. The hosts were amazing they did what was needed and professionally. Very sweet to the elderly. Manager seemed nice as he waved hi and smiled at my 1 year old. So what I like to do is too is, according to service provided by our server, In my server code for myself, tips start at 50 and then go down, never lower than 25 dollars. Servers live on their tips however I never spend more than 80 before I put tip in, when I go out to eat and I think it’s fair. Honestly this time I wanted to give my generous tip to another server who stepped up to help with her tables as she sat in the lobby area with the hosts and was just talking. We sat there and waited and that’s what she was doing towards the end end.. I’m giving a 5 star rating cause 1 person does not make up what the Olive Garden offers. Their food is amazing, the manager I saw was nice I saw other servers busting their butts! Great...

I went to this establishment for a fun birthday dinner and it went south pretty quick. We had ordered a few alcoholic drinks and saying how we have a birthday day girl and our waitress said she doesn’t care who’s birthday it is as long as we are of age. This caught us off guard as the comment was extremely unnecessary. Later we had asked a question and the prices of one of the entrees only to be rudely replied with “that’s incorrect know it’s higher than that” after stating it’s the price located on the menu she said “that’s not right it’s at least a few more dollars” so we requested she asked someone who knew the menu prices a bit better. In the end the prices were correct on the menu and were not given an apology about the confusion. We decided the waitress was not a good fit and request for a new one. The new waiter was still not properly trained in customer service. He forced us to pass down all of our places and dishes rather than placing them in front of our seat. Whenever we were talking about the menu he would constantly interrupt us before we could even finish our statement. I expected more from this restaurant as the prices are on the higher end. I would also have to mention that one of our guests found dried food on our utensil towel and found it...
