Please find another consignment store to take your clothes to. My teenage daughter made an appointment with them to sale ALOT of really nice clothes. They told her everything had to be in a tote, not a plastic bag or they could not accept it. She had everything in tote bags and was at the store before her scheduled time (2:45). The girls working were very rude to my daughter and told her they could not take her clothes, it had to be a tote or laundry basket. My daughter explained, by the very definition, they were totes and no one told her prior it had to be PLASTIC bins and or containers. The customer scheduled right before her had a laundry basket and said my daughter could use it when she was finished. When that customer finished (at 3p.m.) my daughter took her basket and went right back in and the workers told my daughter she had missed her appointment she would have to reschedule!!! My daughter explained she lives two hours away so it was sort of hard to reschedule. They would not take her things and would not let me reschedule later today after a phone conversation with them. I really don’t want to waste my time with ANOTHER trip to Abilene so I guess we will sale her things online. Read moreSo I bought a pair of shoes the other day not realizing that they were selling broken, damaged merchandise, (not the first time I saw a damaged shoes they were selling, so I always check the sole and straps on the shoes at the seams) but these i bought, the shoes wrap around your ankel and had 2 metal parts to them, I didn't realize the most important metal part, where you place it in the hole on the strap to keep it fastened was missing on 1 of the shoes. So I brought it back the next day, have my receipt and the stickers on them, the manager refused to help with the situation. All she kept saying was sorry. May have been our fault , something we missed but we can't do returns on shoes, our policy. All I wanted to do was make an exchange, it was only $8 but that's not the point, they are selling damaged merchandise, something i can't use due to the part missing, I don't understand how a business can just not care at all about their failure, making the customer happy, fix the situation, just allow an exchange for simple $8, which won't make or brake them, but would rather upset their customer, a repeat customer, allow this to happen where I have to publicly call them out on how they treat customers, don't care about their products they sell and want to actually fix the problem but would rather keep $8 for their sale and not fix the problem or make their customers happy...

They should not be knowingly selling damaged items. At least not without making a note of the damage. Additionally, I took items to consign. I had about 60 items. The employee looked at them for 3 minutes, not an exaggeration, and then offered for only one item. What a waste of time. Update: I have shopped numerous times at Platos. The staff has improved immensely. Very courteous. However, be careful to authenticate items yourself before purchasing here. I went in today and they had a pair of not authentic silver Uggs for $35. I have over 20 pair of Ugg boots and have studied numerous forums to authenticate Ugg Australia boots. These were obvious fakes. They lacked the holographic tag, size tags, did not have genuine fur inside, uneven messy stitching, thinner materials used. When I pointed all of this out to the employee and the reasons why they appeared to not be genuine, she appeared uninterested.
