WORST experience EVER in buying furniture! Salesperson raved on long track record of flex steel power reclining sofa full TOP grain leather sofa ONLY to find out they just recently started selling power sofas (unless this also is a LIE). Crap sales tactic used to get us to buy despite us firmly stating concern ABOUT quality and reliability of full grain leather sofas with power recliners! Furniture arrived in 3 wks but salesperson keyed phone # wrong (like he couldn't look at original paperwork?) so we called after 5 wks - were told they had 'had it for 3 weeks'. OK, we got over that.
From time delivered we noticed one end sagged. Also power adapter didn't work so had to remove power supply from recliner & use that (so NEVER able to use recliner). Had service guy come out & found sofa mechanism frame bent. Called store mgr and he said he had new one in warehouse to swap out (due to TWO DEFECTS). Delivery truck came today with 'brand new' replacement and it's in WORSE shape than defective one we have! Not to mention on SAME truck they had EXACT SAME sofa they picked up from another customer. Delivery guys were the ONLY honest ones!. They've been picking up this model a lot but according to Rob Gannon and Elton and everyone else at Charter 'this never happens' or 'the delivery guys damaged it'. NO, they didn't!! Listen to YOUR employees! Talk to Flexsteel about how they ship sofa on end and then to your staff at Charter warehouse about how they are taking sofa off the bolted wooden pallet/plywood instead of being left ON. I work in supply chain mgmt - YOU MUST improve product handling skills and if you have vendor shipping product in way that damages product - address that TOO but DO NOT ignore KNOWN issue and let gullible customers believe salesperson when you KNOW it's NOT true - that is deception.
We considered buying different furniture from you BUT since we now know TRUE info on model we bought and that sales LIED AND management is NOT addressing known issues (and instead try to blame their own delivery guys when they're the only ones who have cared, have felt bad and wanted to make sure we were happy?) how can you blame us for not trusting you as a business to EVER want to come back? So incredibly frustrated and disappointed - but I doubt owner, Mike Crepeaw, or manager, Rob Gannow actually truly care in end. After all, there is always 'the next sale'. To be fair, we are waiting to hear from the owner now.
We looked for WEEKS before deciding on this sofa & 5 weeks for it to arrive..then weeks dealing with defects. So now, no sofa, no recliner..and no big deal to Charter furniture that we have no main seating. We were just another...
Read moreCharter provides a nice quality rental product and excellent customer service. Last year I rented enough furniture to furnish a one bedroom apartment for a few months and was actually impressed with the quality of the rental furniture I received. It looked like new or very, very lightly used furniture. This year I contacted them again to rent furniture for a few months based on my prior experience. This time the sofa provided with the living room set was really worn out - seat cushions support gone and the fabric obviously worn and pilled. All the other pieces were fine and similar to the product quality I experienced last year. I did not want to be "that person" who is always a complainer, but was very dissatisfied with the sofa.it was worn out and uncomfortable. I took a few pictures and sent them to the Charter Account Rep I had worked with explaining I was unhappy with it. I received a call within the hour and he agreed with me completely. It turns out there was a glitch at their warehouse and the sofa I got was supposed to have been removed from their inventory. Not only did they apologize twice, they replaced the entire living room set with a more expensive line - brand new furniture within two days. I am...
Read moreCharter is great. I can't stand to go to most furniture stores where the salesperson follows you around and won't stop talking. I walked into Charter to look at sofas and they told me to feel free to enjoy the store. It was really nice to find modern furniture (as well as traditional) at lower prices. The Broyhill sofa I first saw was about $500 less than I had seen it elsewhere. We ended up buying a cool, modern Rowe sofa, and if you know furniture, that is a very respectable company that you won't find in the Trashley's and Junk-to-Go stores. The price was unbelievably low. I didn't think Charter's bedroom and other wood furniture was quite as good as another Dallas-area furniture store I love, but for upholstered stuff, Charter is a great place...
