My friends and I decided to stop in and eat lunch since we go to school next door. After a few placed our to-go orders, others dined in. As our food was coming one by one, we were all waiting since we arrived together. Me and another friend started eating at the table where our other two friends were waiting for their ( dine - in ) food. Before our food came out, an older woman asked if we needed a bigger table for all of us to sit (hence there was about 10 of my classmates there) instead of having them push tables together for us, we said it was okay for us to split up into different tables. As we were waiting , I opened my Togo food and started eating (maybe that was rude?) the older woman came and snatched plates that were on the table and walked off. I immediately knew she was bothered because of that gesture. She then stood behind the bar and started glaring at us in frustration. As we started to notice she was bothered . She made her way to the table and told us “this time it’s okay but next time, you can’t order Togo and eat here at the table you need to go to the boba side and eat” (they have a boba section on the other side of the restaurant). As we were all confused because we’re waiting for the rest of the orders and we all paid for the food we were eating , we just apologized. She ended up tripping when walking away and because I’m assuming she just embarrassed herself, she then walked around our whole table of 6 GLARING us down. If I wasn’t so hungry, I would have just asked for a refund. Especially because so many of us left a really good tip. If we were in the way of other customers that needed a table, we would have definitely not tried to take up space . I didn’t expect to pay $30+ on lunch and then to be disrespected eating the same lunch. Once she said something about us eating our to go food. The other food we were waiting on took about 10 minutes. So for 10 minutes we were getting glared at for supporting this business. I think my class and I are more upset that we THOUGHT we found a yummy new restaurant we can visit every day. Now we’re...
Read moreI've been a customer for many, many years. Since covid, they have become more focused on money than on customer service and, at times, quality control. They have a large turnover of staff and have recently been acquired by Too Thai. The food quality has suffered at times due to the turnover of cooks. My favorite entre was less than $10 before covid and quickly rose to over $14 now. And, they no longer include an egg roll for that price as they did before. Today was the day that pushed me over the edge. I asked for 2 packets of soy sauce (ketchup sized). The employee refused and said they could only give me 1 due to new policy. After trying my best to persuade him for the one extra packet, he still refused. I asked to speak to a manager. He said you can speak to me. I was like oh, so you are the manager? He said yes. So after much going back and forth about it he says, my boss told me this was the new policy. So, I said, you are not the manager then? He said, no. I asked him what would happen if I were to ask for a refund and he said he could do that. So, I said, you mean to tell me you would rather give me a refund and waste the food then to give me one more packet of soy that cost just a few cents? He finally relented and gave me the second packet, but he was not happy about it I could tell. If I'm spending $15 for a entree that used to cost less than $10, I don't expect to be given a hard time over one packet of soy. It was not like I was asking for 5, 6, or 7 packets. I only wanted 2. In my opinion, that is reasonable for a dinner sized entree. I still don't...
Read moreMet my wife at this spot for lunch. We actually had meant to go to the ramen spot next door but they were closed for renovations. Anyway, we were glad we came in to Best Thai instead. Seating was immediate and we were sat in a room away from the chatter which was nice.
I remember it taking us some time to decide on a dish because there were so many options. Not a bad problem to have. When I saw that they had crab fried rice, I was elated and immediately let the waitress know that was what I wanted. And then I remembered I was having lunch with my wife. Someone would be sleeping in the doghouse that night (me). Anyway, she ordered the pad Thai with chicken.
When the crab fried rice came out, I was not expecting the amount of food given. I think the dish could feed an entire village. I may be exaggerating a little bit but it was a lot of food… that I somehow managed to finish entirely. With no scraps left behind. As you may have guessed, it was absolutely delicious. The crab tasted fresh and the rice cooked perfectly. My wife seemed to enjoy her pad Thai. I sampled a piece and it tasted like pad Thai. I generally am not a fan of pad Thai but a wise Thai chef once said “pad Thai should be sweet, salty and sour” and this dish was all of the above. We ended up to go-ing the rest of the pad Thai since the portions are astronomical.
The service we received the entire time was outstanding. The waitress was very attentive and we never had to ask for anything.
We most definitely will be coming back. In fact, I’m in the mood for crab and will likely stop back...
