Food Lion — Local services in Aiken County

Food Lion, Market Plaza, North Augusta, SC, exit 5, across from Walmart, is like a family grocery store to me. I go in once a week, usually. I know the management and employees. Managers will stop what they are doing to assist customer and take the time to go with you to find what you are looking for. Prices are a little high, however, they always have customer discounts, including extra discounts to return customers. Everyone is friendly as a rule and, if not, it is immediately handled by management to your satisfaction, but you must contact management so that they know there is a problem. Management, usually more than one are always on the floor, so if you have a problem, it is handled immediately. Unlike Walmart, across the road where you can't find even an associate to help you, so you certainly won't speak to a manager. I, personally, am extremely happy with Food Lion. I even use their pharmacy and am extremely satisified with most everyone in the pharmacy. Pharmacist' always has time or makes the time to help a customer if necessary. This is my local store #2666 135 Marketplace Dr. North Augusta SC. I want to say that the cashier was absolutely wonderful. I wish every cashier or customer service was this nice and helpful. I wish I had looked at her name tag but I do see cashier:0209 on my receipt. I will definitely pay attention to name tags in the future. This cashier is such an asset to Food Lion. All of that being said, I was very dissatisfied with the $5 chicken tenders. They had a bad fishy flavor. Old oil? I'm not sure. I know they are supposed to be on hotbar for no longer than 2 hours. These unfortunately had been about 30 minutes past that by the time on my receipt in comparison to the product timestamp. I should have paid closer attention, but I don't work there and I relied on the deli associates. In the future, IF I purchase anything from the hot bar, I will definitely pay attention to the time stamps because after eating one I felt nauseous and disposed of the remainder. I cannot rate the store properly because I was just coming from having a small surgery. The doctor had written a prescription for me to take when I got home. This was early morning around 10;30 am. I was first asked if I was an enrolled pharmacy customer. However that should not have mattered. I replied no, my current pharmacy did not have that particular medication in stock. I was enrolled with Food Lion pharmacy but at my previous home in another state. The pharmacy representative stated it would take an hour to fill my prescription. I was already in major discomfort, so waiting that long have a prescription medication was not something I could sit and wait around for. In my opinion, as customer service representative you assist people in any way to accommodate them within your capability.
