On September 2, 2015, I walked,in the 98 degree sun, to Checkers store # 3054 located at 1029 Edgefield Rd in North Augusta, SC. At which point Brenda, a cashier, took my order. I ordered many items, which included a Bacon Zilla Fry. After rudely correcting my pronunciation of Bacon Zilla, my order was completed. Once I received my order, the first thing I noticed is that I did not have dipping sauce for the wings that I ordered. So I asked for blue cheese. The server gave it to me and I went on my way. Looking at the receipt, I noticed that the Bacon Zilla was a bit pricier than I read on the menu, but since the price that I thought the fries were were preceded by try 'em loaded, I thought that price may have referred to the to the fully loaded fries and that the Bacon Zilla fries were more.
As I sat down to eat, I realized that a box was missing. After looking, I thought it was the wings that were missing. So I walked back to the checkers with the receipt in the hot sun to get them. After getting to the window and speaking to Zaid Blair, he said that the wings were at the bottom of the bag. I said okay and walked back to my food. I searched the back and realized my wings were present, but the fries were missing.
At this point I decided to walk back to checkers, this time carrying the heavy bag in the hot sun. After getting to the window again and speaking with Zaid I told him there was not Bacon Zilla fry. At that point he insisted on seeing my receipt. I handed him the receipt, at which point he told me I did not order a Bacon Zilla Fry. He said that I ordered a Bacon Zilla Burger. Well this definitely explained why the price was so high... I told him that I asked for a fry not a burger. At this time the cashier Brenda proceeded to make the argument that I asked for a burger and she confirmed the order to me, in what I felt to be a rude manner. Yes, she confirmed Bacon Zilla as she rudely corrected me, but she never said it was a burger. I never realized that there was a Bacon Zilla burger and fry on the menu.
After realizing no one was trying to get me the product I intended to order, but instead was trying to prove to me that they gave me what they thought I ordered, I decided to request a full refund.I was hot and did not feel like arguing. At which point Zaid requested my credit card in what I felt was a rude manner. I handed over the card and he walked to another cash register to process my refund. He also took the food from the window and threw it in the trash. Soon after Brenda proceeded to help the person standing behind me without even saying excuse me or asking me to step to the side. I thought this to be quite rude. Eventually Ziad returned to the window to have me sign the processed document, at which point I asked for the original receipt. He told me that he did not have the receipt, at which time I reminded him that I handed it to him when he asked for it. Then he says he threw it in the trash. I asked him if he could get it out of the trash, and he told me I needed to sign the receipt in front of him first in a rude manner. I signed the receipt, got his name, then watched as he dug through the trash for my receipt. He found it, then handed to me. I told him that I was disappointed with my service there and promised to write a review and contact corporate. Once again he proceeded to argue the fact that he did not do or say anything wrong.
I was just at the Bojangles across the street the previous day, and I must say they had superior service. and a high...

I found they had omitted the apple pie from my order, which included two bbq brisket melt singles, one large coke zero, one fry, and one apple pie. The woman at the window seemed very hurried to get that pie to me. I received no receipt, and they usually give one.
When I got home, I checked my bank, and realized they'd charge me $29.89 for two single bbq brisket melts (which should have been $3.99 each) one large coke zero (usually $2.99), one order of fries ($3.29) and one apple pie (usually than $1.79). The entire order should have been approximately $17.00 including tax, on my debit card.
I called the corporate office to explain the issue: no receipt, and the gross overcharge. Corporate requested and was provided with a picture of one of the sandwiches I'd received. I was told it would take 2-3 business days to get a response. I waited a few weeks and called again. Eventually, I got a voicemail from someone who said something about "Checkers," but her speech was distorted in VM, and her message could not be understood, nor transcribed. She left no name that I could identify, and no phone number. I tried to call back the number that she had called from, but after several tries, the repeated calls did not go through. I called corporate again, supplied the case number they had given me, and never heard back. I had asked for the name and number of the franchise owner, but my request was declined.
I've waited to post this review, hoping they would contact me and refund my money, or do something! Checkers corporate has not followed through at all, it's been just over 2 months now.
I'll not return, and I've told everyone I know about this. Perhaps they do this targeting seniors. Please, keep your debit card in your purse or pocket and do not use it for fast food, especially not at Checkers!
I've included a picture of the sandwich for which they charge $3.99, but I was charged more like $6 per sandwich. I honestly can't see how they charge even $3.99 for that "bbq brisket!"
Checkers: do not ask me to contact at your site to comment, you've had plenty of chances!
I notice Checkers answered with their bot. I'm sure it's a bot, because they didn't even apparently read my post that says "...do not ask me to contact you at your site to comment, you've had plenty of chances."
Luckily, this site is now closed! I'll never, ever visit another checkers or related brand after having been duped by this one, as well as the corporate offices. (Read initial review and my response to their answer...
Read moreI despise leaving a one star review, but this has to be said if corporate wants to save this location from closing down. This review is going to be thorough, mixed and honest.
My husband decided to go by this Checkers because it's convenient to our location. Big mistake. Management needs to get a grip on training employees for great customer service. Otherwise, it'll close down.
We wanted to try the 4 for a little over $5 meal special. The fries were great, and the burgers were good. The chicken bites were a little tough. The price for the meal... Good.
That's the only compliment to this review. The employee at the drive-thru was Danye.... According to the receipt. I will edit this review if I have the name wrong. I will also be completing that online review offered on the back of that receipt.
My husband asked for honey mustard at the window when he received his food and drinks. The employee snapped at him that, "They're in the bag!" He said that she was rude about it, acted offended.
Guess what? He brought the food home and NO sauces in the bag. There was never a need to not check the bag before proclaiming they were already in it. And there's absolutely no excuse for not being a courteous employee. Customers provide employee's paychecks... I'm in the customer service field. I have been trained well. Employees: be kind and courteous!
My husband refuses to this location again. We'll drive further to get better service.
And please, put the sauces in the bag. Better yet, double check if the customer asks you for sauce.
Corporate, please take steps to save...
