The Kroger Store itself is great, except for the way they deal with returned Primo 5 gallon water bottles. When you purchase them, you pay a lot of money for the bottle. That’s fine because you get 7 dollars back per bottle when you return them. Only thing that they don’t tell you is that you can only use those 7 dollars towards a new bottle of Primo Water. “It’s Primo’s policy”, the manager told me. Well, that sucks because all the other 5 gallon bottles I have purchased from different brand, they deposit the money back on my creditcard if I don’t buy another bottle. We only needed two bottles so when I brought them back there was no need for me to buy another one. But, besides all the talking I did, I lost those 14$. Worst thing is that they didn’t have that written down on any sign when I purchased the bottles. Only now, when I looked at their website, they said so. I would never have bought them in the first place if it would have been clear. There is a way to get credited back though, their website says, but the procedure takes 6 weeks and it will cost you money. And I only read that after I had thrown out the tickets.
Other bad thing is that the bottles didn’t fit on our water thing. So we had to poor the 5 gallon into the Zephyr bottle that did fit and then put it back on.
I think this whole thing is very bad of Primo. They trick you and are not honest about the procedure. I think Kroger does a bad job too to allow Primo to do this in THEIR store and to not give any other option in brands of a 5 gallon...
Read moreI have used solely Kroger as my grocer for about 4 years now. I live about 2 minutes away from it and they (I thought) had unbeatable prices. Because of the experiences I have had below I have tried a nearby competitor and realized I can save about $70 shopping with them, but I honestly prefer Krogers products. My main gripe is that the past 5 or 6 times I have been, my pregnant fiance and I have had to bag our own groceries. I don't mean in the express aisle either, we typically drop $150 to $250 each trip. I have not been trained on how to do so in a time efficient manner. Today I visited and a woman in front of me experienced the same thing. We both witnessed 3 employees standing off near the customer service counter just chit-chatting. It seemed they were joking with another employee whilst the woman in front of me bagging her own groceries stared at them furiously. I spoke with her after ( she parked right beside me) and she had the same story as me. She said she typically uses ( the competitor I have tried) now because of how poor the operations are at Kroger. I also had to make a trip right back because I forgot something and counted 5 employees standing around talking with each other. I don't mean to sound rude when I say this, but I believe that If I am going to be doing the job that the employees are supposed to do and not getting paid for it, then I should receive a discount at least! If this persists, I will move permanently to a different...
Read moreOn today June 30, 2024 I went to Kroger where I always go to purchase my WIC for my child. I never have an issue till today. At check everything was going good although my milk didn’t come off with my WIC which also it had the sign on it. The older Caucasian lady with shoulder length grayish white hair refused to call a manager for me and she was also very nasty and rude (I should’ve took a picture of her). She continued to say she couldn’t do anything for me when i simply only asked for someone above her, yet she still denied me. Then another associate named Rick came over and she motioned to shewed me away with her had. Finally a manger was called and Rick took over. The manger couldn’t come down but over the phone he told Rick to just give me the milk. So I thank those two for helping. But to the lady at checkout the way she dismissed me was uncalled for and she needs further customer service training cause she turned something small into a big thing and I felt a bit embarrassed. I know that to ever go in her line if I decide to come back and shop and if labels were wrong they need to go back and double check all WIC products!!!!!! I was a customer service trainer, and manager at my old job so to Rick he deserves a raise cause he exemplified great customer...
