I cannot speak for the Hibachi aspect of this restaurant, but the sushi is always on point! Last night we placed a to-go order for a yum yum roll and a veg roll. They were both absolutely delicious. Sakura has the best sushi in Aiken. The fish is always fresh. They offer many different choices, and they accommodate special requests without any problem. We also ordered sides of fried rice and vegetables. The portions were very generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Also, they don't charge extra for white sauce, which alot of restaurants have started to do for takeout, which I feel is unfair. If it's something that you're offered for free if you dine in, then I feel like you should be able to get it to go for free, as well. The staff is friendly, and the time for to go sushi orders is reasonable. We only had to wait about 20 minutes for our order to be ready.

I went with my family and in total we were a party of 6. they gave us a whole table to ourselves and made sure we were comfortable and consistently asked to fill our drinks, I refused as I wasn’t very thirsty but I know this is important for some people. The food was very tasty and the lights set a nice mood. They even played the Disney movie coco for the room to the left of us. We didn’t go for a special event but a lot of people went for a birthday and they were presented with a special little celebration from the staff. The show was also really cool, the chef at our table also threw broccoli in our mouths, he gave me 3 chances and I missed all of them- if I could give it a higher score I would but sadly I can only give 5 stars.

I was kind of shocked by how much I enjoyed this hibachi place. I'm not sure why but it seems like I don't usually enjoy the food at smaller places like this one. The quality of the meats and the rest of the food was VERY good. I would definitely recommend Sakura to others and I will certainly be going back as hibachi is my favorite kind of food and it is right down the street from the area I just moved to. Alfonso was the chef for my table and he was super nice and very good at his job. I will request him again the next time I go. I want to note that in the picture I posted, I had already eaten most of the shrimp and vegetables before I took the picture.

Yesterday.

First let me shout out Alex. He was an entertaining cook and kept checking in with us throughout the meal... the only reason you even have a star is because of him!!

The A.C. was not working. As I was telling the seating host how big our party was and asked about a wait time, SHE PUT HER HEAD DOWN ON HER ARM AS SHE'S TALKING TO ME. I couldn't understand her for her talking to the floor. (I would've left at this point but my precious mother in law wanted to eat at this establishment and I wasn't going to ruin it for her) After being seated and served drinks, we get our salad. It's WARM. It wasn't even cold. It was too hot inside to eat our soup or even finish our meal. I did manage to eat more of my food than my family because my steak was spot on (thank you Alex). The waitress disappeared. Other people were trying to cover for her but at this point I've already given up on this place. The floor is SUPER SLICK. Lawsuit waiting happen. My husband's beverages were not cold at all.

The poor chef continuously tried to work around the steam on the grill as hit as it was in the restaurant. He did have a sweat rag and wiped his face multiple times. They shouldn't have to work in conditions when it's hotter inside than outside. But he was a trooper and our food and entertainment was good.

Just save yourself time and...

Usually at Sakura, everything is always top notch, tonight's visit wasn't that way unfortunately. We did have a big group, which was split between 2 tables. Our table ordered, drinks, soup, and tempora shrimp came out like normal, then the chef came out to start cooking, our table still waiting on salad and sushi that was ordered. As chef was preparing rice, my wife asked staff about salad and sushi that hasn't made it out yet, which table next to us had already received even though we ordered before them. Staff says sorry about this, brings out 1 order of sushi and says other order of sushi, is out of product. They should have came out and told us that when they realized that instead of us having to ask, but not a big deal at that moment because chef is starting to cook. It doesn't get much better from there though, rice ends up being crispy with a burnt taste, shrimp cooked too long and rubbery, chicken cooked too long with a burnt taste to it. The steak was cooked perfect though. I understand everyone has an off night from time to time, they did knock off a little money because we never received our salads at least. As I said earlier, we eat here often and everything is usually really good, unfortunately,...

By far the worst experience we have ever had here. Normally, we are regular customers.. after arriving at 7:45 the manager told us it would be about a 15 minute wait. No one else was in the waiting room at this time. Then, three other parties arrived and the actual host came out and was confused as to who came in first but we got it straightened out that we were there before anyone else and then waited another 15 minutes so at this time we have waited now 30 minutes. Then we were taken to our seats and we waited for our cook for over a hour and a half. They were not busy at all there was only four tables occupied. They sent the wrong cook to a party that came in after us. After waiting nearly two hours at this point we decided to leave but first wanted to inform the manager about our experience and he called us liars and that it was not true we had been sitting there for over two hours and to me, not only was that an insult to our character by saying we were lying which two parties witnessed and had the same story but seems like they are not trying to foresee the best service for...
