Sorry this feedback is from an earlier date. I have never provided feedback via the internet. First dinner at Wilcox was great. Second dinner was New Years Eve at 4:00pm. My wife ordered the Chicken special and I ordered the salmon. My wife said her chicken was very good. My Salmon was raw. Asked the waitress if the salmon was supposed to be sushi. She said no. Sent the fish back. After 20 to 30 minutes the salmon was served. Again it was raw. Asked the waitress what is the problem. Manager came out and said that she did not have an excuse that explained why the fish was served raw twice. She asked how she could fix it. I said my wife is done eating and waiting for me to eat. I still don't have a meal. I said you can't fix this. Manager asked if I would like something else. I said the chicken special. While waiting for the chicken the fish was served again. however, this time it was cooked. I ate the fish. Manager offered to send a chicken special home with me free and we took it. We were there for over 2 hours. Apparently the regular chef was to return for the New Years Eve party. The replacement cook must of been hired right from McDonalds. He should return and learn how to cook fish. Its really not that hard. After that last visit, my wife and I decided to not return. Until one day about a year later, my parents were in town and we decided to return to Wilcox. It was about 3 weeks after the hurricane in the fall of 2024. We had a big breakfast so I made reservations for 4 at 2:00pm. While we were being seated, we were advised that they were only serving brunch. I said that would have been nice to tell me when I made the reservation. We ordered our meal. My mom received salad that only had oil on it. They forgot to put in the vinegar. My wife's meal was cold. I order a CAB burger well done. It was raw. I cut the burger in half and the waitress saw it. She immediately said do you want me to have that cooked some more. I said yes. Again, why does my food get served raw. My burger came back to me all messed up on my plate. They should have cooked me a new burger. Once again, everyone at the table were finished with their meal and I was just served my meal. I will NEVER return...
Read moreYesterday was by far the worst experience I've ever had at this establishment. I first came here 3 years ago. I quickly became a regular for weekend stays and dinner. At that time, my favorite server was EBONY.
I recommended this place for my brother's birthday celebration. I spoke so highly of the Wilcox despite my last TWO lack luster experiences.
Yesterday was a train wreck. Our reservation was at 11:30. Our party ordered cocktails and starters. Having Frequented before, we assured that while the bar is slow, it’s worth it (craft cocktails and all). Our starters arrived before our cocktails. Cocktails arrive incorrect. Service was very slow. We find ourselves with a new waitress. We had no idea. We order our entrees and get through the rest of our meal understanding todays climate and they’re likely understaffed, etc.
Communication clearly lacking amongst staff, the assistant GM attempted to compensate where others lacked. I am appreciative of his attentiveness.
Unfortunately, all understanding went out the window when one of our party overheard other staff saying “their reservation was at 11:30 why are they still here?”
As we wrapped up payments, another waitress proceeded to interject and escalate a situation that had no need to be taken further. Said server threatened to call the manager, whom had been lovely to us thus far... why?
I really wish they would take the time to train their staff, especially considering their restaurant’s price point.
Given todays climate, it saddens me that my table of minorities didn’t feel...
Read moreOur first visit to The Willcox in Aiken, SC, was nothing short of exceptional, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible waitress, Stephanie. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel genuinely welcome, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
Stephanie has a special gift for hospitality—she was warm, professional, and effortlessly attentive without ever being intrusive. As first-time guests, we had plenty of questions about the menu, and she guided us with thoughtful recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes. Her knowledge of the dishes and wine, as well as the history and charm of The Willcox, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening.
Beyond her impeccable service, what truly stood out was Stephanie’s personality. She brought an infectious energy to our table, making us feel like longtime friends rather than newcomers. Every interaction was genuine, every detail thoughtfully handled, and her enthusiasm was absolutely contagious.
The Willcox impressed us with its beautiful ambiance and outstanding food, but Stephanie made our first visit truly special. She turned our date night into a memorable experience, and we’ll absolutely be returning—next time, we’ll be asking for...
