Customer service is satisfactory. However, lots food on the shelves at this location are only a few days away from expiring. A lot of produce, such as onions, grapefruit, oranges, etc. feel soft and mushy to the touch. They recently changed the layout of their store and discontinued a large amount of items, mostly healthy food. Their chip aisle has been expanded to an entire aisle; it used to be half the size. They did, however, create a large toy aisle that is conveniently located in the same aisle as the cereal. On a positive note, there is a Huntington bank at this location that is open late. The pharmacy is just okay; no competitive pricing and crowded. My family will not be shopping here as a main grocery store anymore. We will only stop in to pick up an item or two if its late and we need it - they are open until midnight every day.
Edit: 1/29/2019 The store still consistently has expired food on the shelves. The dairy coolers are moldy. It's disgusting. I took pictures this evening (1/29/19) and have uploaded them with this edit. If you can zoom in on the yogurt, you can see that at least one item is expired (1/22/19). Management hasn't listened to me in the past when I complained of expired food, so I think the public deserves to know. Don't shop here unless you check the date of every single item you buy! Even ketchup! I once bought a bottle of Kraft Sweet & Sour Sauce from this location that was two months expired! Pathetic. Management needs to get their...
Read moreGiant Eagle grocery stores have a wonderful selection. Not only do they carry a selection of name brand items (just look at how many different brands of pasta sauce and ice cream they sell) they also sell three different store brands of their own at different price points that are a great value.
They sell great fresh baked bread. They have good quality produce. They have a very wide selection of alcohol. They have gluten free products, various international cuisines, and lots of gift cards.
Make sure you join there free rewards program to save on gasoline for your car. And definitely shop their sales.
The catch - Giant Eagle's prices are high.
I only buy what I can't find at other stores, or their sales... and also gift cards to places I'm going to spend money at anyway, so I can get free gas... like Amazon, Panera, Coldstone, etc.
This store has two self checkouts without a conveyer belt, and I think 3 or 4 with a belt. The rest are manned with staff. There is a pharmacy, a bakery (you can order cakes from as well) a deli, and you can order fruit and veggie trays from their produce department. You can buy fresh rotisserie chickens, premade salads, etc. So dinner in a pinch is possible. All...
Read moreThis is what happens when you go shopping at this store while Mexican. My poor dad and I had a terrible experience today at this store. He was looking for chicken livers that he could use for fishing. A lady worker followed him around the store the entire time and recorded him with her personal cell phone and took pictures of his vehicle. My dad was so scared. He asked two other employees where the chicken livers were? He couldn’t find chicken livers and just decided to buy two water bottles instead. He didn’t have a jacket on or a cart. There was no way he could have hidden anything if he was stealing- which he wasn’t. They told him that he looked suspicious. How is this suspicious? This is so sad. I feel like my dad was being discriminated against and was racially profiled. We have never ever had an experience like this before at any other Giant Eagle. And by the looks of these reviews this isn’t the first time something like this has happened to a POC at...
