Target — Local services in Alabaster

This has been our go-to Target for years. It’s the closest location to us (Calera residents), but fortunately, we also have the best experiences at this location than the other Target locations (especially Hoover).

The last time we were at Target, we made a pretty big purchase. We saved up and planned for a new TV and settled on the LG brand. The particular model that we came home with was on sale and we were able to take advantage since we are Red Card members.

We got our TV home, gently unloaded it, to discover that the TV was damaged.

Not to worry, our knight in shining armor was there to help.

Before we made the trip to Target we called to make sure that they had the model that we wanted in stock. They had 1. I even got the awesome associate, Brandon, to measure the box for us to be sure it would fit in my SUV.

Brandon was the person we called when the TV was damaged and he was immediately empathetic and understanding to our situation and walked us through our options: 1) return the TV at Alabaster and head to another location to purchase a new one or 2) head to another location and exchange the TV for the same model as long as they had it in stock.

We never have a poor experience here, but Brandon made this stressful shopping trip seamless and worry-free. He was calm, informative and he was genuinely happy to help us. So this review is a shout out to the stellar customer service we received mid-September and this is one of the many reasons we will continue to shop this location!

This store is always clean, including the fitting rooms. They try to keep this store well-stocked and if I've ever not been able to find something there, staff has offered to order it and have it sent to me or the store, at no extra charge.

SO, WHY 4-STARS INSTEAD OF 5? One evening, a week ago, I ordered an available pick-up item, online that I was needing for a wedding (black dress "A New Day") and the next morning, I unfortunately received an emailed that the item was no longer in stock (which was fine; that happens). However, that day, I went to the store to pick up my other items from the order and decided to look for the black dress myself (the app indicated there was still one left in the store). With very little effort, in the "A New Day" section, I found the dress I had wanted to order (along with 5 other available sizes of that exact dress), so I notified the pick-up desk. It left me feeling that whomever was responsible for finding it, didn't even try. That's the only time I've been disappointed in Target's staff. The upside to ordering this way is that my card is never charged until the items are picked up, so no real hassle. (I'm glad I was already going to be at that location because otherwise, I'd never known the dress I wanted was in stock after all.) Not ideal and made the staff look...

Not pleased one bit. NOT AT ALL. Went with my sister and niece this past Friday evening so my niece could pick find some new clothes for a beach trip next week. This was Friday 3/14 around 7:15pm. Went back to fitting room so my niece can try on the clothes she picked out. We were informed that the fitting rooms were closed. Reason why- because they were backed up with clothes that needed to be returned. There was only a small rack of clothes. And two employees there. Seriously. We put the clothes my niece had picked out on the rack and headed to leave but my sister went back to the fitting room area to get the items anyway for my niece. My sister heard the two employees talking smack about us. So unprofessional! Their behavior was appalling. The store closes at 10pm. This was 7:15pm. No reason why the fitting room needed to be closed 3 hours before closing time. In my opinion the two employees just wanted to socialize. And then to talk smack about customers very very unprofessional. If I was their manager they would have been written up. ALABASTER TARGET DO BETTER!!! Train young employees to understand they are to be working not socializing. Probably...
