Wasabi Japanese Sushi and Bar was fantastic. It was my first time there with my dad, but the food delivered strong and the service was frequent and friendly.

I had the Black Ramen Bowl, and it was really tasty. It was my first time having Ramen and I feel I am in love instantly. The menu seemed to have really great variety for ramen too, both the heavier ones like I had, and some lighter chicken based options too.

The menu in general was vast. You could find almost any kind of Japanese food you can think of. Hibachi, Sushi, Ramen, Yakisoba, Poke Bowls, Sashimi... and even some more exotic options like there Japanese "Tacos"

The appetizers are good too. But One thing to know is that if you order the 5 pc sushi appetizer, you will probably get Nigiri and not Maki Rolls. They are quite different so just be aware! The Nigiri was still good especially with a little soy sauce.

The service was super friendly. The server attended our needs frequently, possibly because it wasn't very busy. Still it didn't feel like we had to wait very long for refills or other things. The manager was extremely kind too, and we appreciated how much the manager cared.

The atmosphere was nice too, the effort in the decor felt pretty, and it was really beautiful place. Plus the natural lighting made it feel refreshing too. Perfect place to stop for a sit down lunch, and I'm sure it's nice for dinner too.

Overall Wasabi Japanese Sushi Bar & Grill is a great little gem in the promenade. It's worth stopping for lunch, if you are looking for tasty, comforting, but also refined Japanese cuisine. You'll find just about anything you can want, and i'm sure there is something for everyone...

āļø Delicious food with nice presentation, pretty atmosphere, multiple seating options for various group sizes. Friendly wait staff making sure everything was good. Clean dining area. They seem eager to please.

ā€¼ļøšŸ›‘ I was very uncomfortable when a staff member was on the phone with a guy, in the only other stall in the bathroom, with the volume all the way up. Most notedly, she didn’t hang up when I was audibly peeing next to them. I did not understand the (southeast Asian?) language they were speaking, nothing wrong with that in itself, but led me to believe it was a staff member. āš ļø Flies were abundant enough to require shooing away from our food. In the south during the summer, this is not uncommon. But, a staff member had a fly swatter and smushed one within view, which turned my stomach a bit. āŽ My family member didn’t get any refill offers for iced tea, but I got several for water, so she was a bit thirsty. Had to ask a few times for a to go drink. Had to initiate going up front even though we had already asked for a check and waited a while. āŽ This didn’t affect my dining experience, but I think they should keep the landscape cut back to help their business be attractive to new customers. This was one of the failing points of the last restaurant here and we always noticed it when we pulled up.

Overall, good dining experience. Filling and satisfying food. Unlucky and strange social...

Visited for first time today, I think today was the grand opening.. first and last time I’ll eat here. Waited in line with two cars for almost 40 min before I received food. Granted I understand they just opened and we’re probably slammed, the food was like the Asian food you’d get at a mall in the food court. I got the teriyaki chicken & beef bowl, the chicken was edible but the beef was almost slimey and so chewy almost choked. Got a pork bun as well because I’ve never had one, reading the description for it on the menu it sounded so good. Once I received pork bun it was a piece of grey chewy pork belly and a piece of lettuce, a cucumber and mayo slapped on it. No flavor at all… it was very dirty inside and there were employees standing by the drive thru menu smoking cigarettes with gloves on, so I doubt they washed their hands. The people of alabaster desperately need a sanitary restaurant with hot fresh food. The food was not fresh, nor was it hot. We need something besides longhorn and Taziki’s.. those are the only places in alabaster I receive consistent and quality food. I refuse to pay for this garbage anymore. $20 down the drain. The beef was grey and chewy and slimey gross. This place like a lot of other places in alabaster was over hyped and over priced. Won’t return. I give...

I have many things to say about this place. The potential is definitely there. At noon, only two other tables had customers. The staff stood around and watched us, English not so good. The place was decorated beautifully and my sushi was amazing. They still don’t have alcohol or a liquor license. Which is fine for lunch but at night, I would have needed sake šŸ¶ They made fun of me. I told them I was taking pics for a Google review and the staff told me they would charge $5 for photographs. When I asked for a fortune cookie, the waiter and the not-so-good-English cashier made fun of me. They said, ā€œThis is not a Chinese restaurant. We don’t give out fortune cookies.ā€ 🄠 Call me delulu, but I’ve been to many hibachi places like Mizu and they give out fortune cookies after a meal, even if you order Japanese food. I was rather disappointed for being the made fun of American girl who adores Asian food. How can I celebrate a culture’s cuisine if they made fun of me at every turn? I’m half Italian, and if I owned an Italian restaurant, there’s NO WAY IN HELL I would make fun of my customers who aren’t Italian. This is not to be tolerated. Did I mention they only had two other tables with customers at noon?!

Back with another review, so you know I’m bout to give my upmost honesty. Let’s get into. What caught my attention were the sushi tacos šŸ£ . I ordered the salmon and eel tacos, Tokyo ramen, and a Pineapple fruit tea. Food is freshly prepared and if you’re dining in they offer free board games while you eat (Play me in UNO for some money lol šŸ˜‚). Anyways the tacos were unique never had a fried seaweed taco shell. The only critique I would give them is to offer some seasoning to the meats they cook. The salmon needed seasoning but the soy sauce and yum yum made up for it. The eel ummmm 🤨 the texture gave off Swedish fish, flavor wise I’d pass on it next time and also me personally the avocado didn’t mix well with that particular meat ( it wasn’t bad just not my preferred taste ). Maybe if it had some sort of spice instead of what they put together it would’ve had potential. The Tokyo ramen šŸœ was okay the chicken cutlets were tough and dry tasted like overcooked rotisserie. The broth I didn’t care for, flavor was more porky instead of chicken flavored. Lastly the pineapple fruit tea tasted like a mix of hibiscus with a hint of pineapple. Other than that I’ll be back to try other stuff on the menu. Byeeeee šŸ’‹
