Me Nail Spa — Local services in Alameda

I REALLY wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I booked my appointment a couple of days in advance for a gel extensions and they let me know that it will take about an hour - hour and a half. I didn't question the timing because is my first time using this service. The day of my appointment I arrived right on time, but they were running late, once I sat down I made sure to let them know that I have no more than an hour and 45 minutes, after all, they are the ones who told me it will be no more than an hour and a half. Immediately I received an attitude and annoyed look how this is not enough time. Everything was moving with no explanation of the process, and no questions about what I wanted but so rushed! I was made feel uncomfortable only by asking if they do designs. They were running so late that at the end two people had to work on my nails and still I was there for 2 hours and had to run out of the door because I was already late for another appointment. Not only this but I had zero time to look at the nails, when I looked at them closely later, I saw a couple of HUGE gaps on two of them and can only hope they won't fall out. The overall look is like press-on nails. My technician didn't do anything to make them blend, the one next to us was doin all kinds of steps on another client for the same service, I know because I asked what are they having. For the price of $80 this was a horrible experience. When I asked to pay their card machine was not “working” and they made me pay with Venmo, now I am thinking it might be on purpose so you can't stop the payment will the bank. Definitely...

I would highly recommend not going to this salon. The salon is not well kept and does not look similar to the photos online. I arrived at my appointment time, had to wait for the nail tech to arrive about 15 min later she finally strolled in. If you have a 10am appointment the techs should probably arrive before the salon opens.. The floor wasn’t clean, tabletops were not clean either with nails all over the place. If you like sanitized stations, do not come here. The heat was not on, it was colder inside the salon than outside on the street. When I paid I was told only Venmo or Zelle which I did but the salon needs to advertise if it isn’t taking regular payments as not everyone will be ok with this. A few days after my manicure, half of my nails were chipped. When I was in the salon someone else walked in and asked them to fix the manicure as it was only a few days after and already ruined, so seems the polish quality is terrible and this probably happens often. Not a wide selection of colors at all and you’re rushed to pick something. Very poor and uncomfortable experience overall, will not ever...

Pros: friendly staff, did pretty good job on gel nails (except for uneven filing of natural nails which was visible behind the gel tips.

Cons: only major complaint was that I feel I was overcharged! Was charged $85 ($90 including tip) FOR a red gel tip pedicure (no nail art—just regular) AND a Pedicure (regular red polish—asked for regular—not gel). Does not make sense why it costed this much for a gel tip mani and regular polish pedi.

In addition, they did not have the massager chairs or massager tubs for feet. Been to other salons where you get WAY more for your money. Last complaint in regard to nails—my regular nails were not filed evenly, as I have two natural nails that are longer than the rest and immediately visible from behind the fake gel nails. For the money I paid, I expected a better job/experience. Reason I decided to go here was due to all of the positive reviews.
