Sandwich Board — Restaurant in Alameda

Let me start by saying that the sandwiches are real tasty.

However, I do have some issues with how the place handles business. The owner put a cutout of an article on the wall about how he was fighting an ADA (American Disabilities Act) lawsuit, which is a weird thing to be proud of. Also, every time I visit there is some sort of organizational issue (i.e. my friend ordered soup, which was promoted on a sign, tasted awful and no employee could find a spoon or even knew where one would be. Many times, something couldn't be wrung up at the register etc). I've worked enough jobs in the service industry to know that those problems stem from leadership, who may want to reconsider their priorities.

I might return to see if things improve, but it will be hard to feel good...

Had hi expectations from all the 5 star reviews. But the first thing I noticed was only metered parking and not much of it. So don't believe reviews that say otherwise. Then the awful smell! Shop smelled intensely of rancid grease. But you can't eat inside so I ordered anyway. Jeff's Special; no mayo. The ingredients were fresh and the sandwich thick. Service was pleasant and quick and they didn't ask for an electronic tip as you order (good old fashioned service!). The Dutch Crunch bread seemed a bit dry but maybe it's suppose to be that way.
