wasn’t sure what to expect going into The Dinner Detective, but I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation. From the very start, the atmosphere was immersive—you’re immediately pulled into the mystery, scanning the room for suspects, and second-guessing everyone around you.
What really made the night unforgettable was sitting at a table with the murderer—Barb Wire. She played it off so well, staying completely under the radar while the rest of us tried to piece together the clues. When the reveal finally happened, I had to give her credit—it was brilliantly executed, and she had all of us fooled.
The show was a perfect mix of intrigue, humor, and interactive storytelling, and the actors made sure the energy stayed high the whole time. It didn’t feel scripted or predictable—there were real twists, clever misdirections, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
If you like true crime, detective stories, or just a fun, engaging night out, this is absolutely worth it. Just be careful who you trust… you never know when you’re sitting next to the killer....
Read moreComplete cluster - disorganized and unsanitary is the name of this game. Imagine the scenario of being told, “you’re sitting at table one”, but come to find table one is full. So then the host is completely stumped at what to do. What’s the most logical thing to do? Play musical chairs. Someone else gets evicted from their chair so someone else can sit there, that person goes there, they come here, I go there, etc. However, there’s the subject matter of the accompanying dinner, so someone’s salad is taken away from them and given to someone else and their salad left at the table becomes my salad, flatware stays, so whatever they’re using is what I’m supposed to use as well. When I refused the salad and asked for fresh salads for my group, I was looked at like I was from another planet. So no salad, no salad dressing, no water (pitchers on table), no service to speak of - either from the host or the banquet manager. Horrible experience, horrible host,...
Read moreI did not realize until I got to the Marriott hotel (where the dinner theatre was to be) that the date was incorrect and the show was not until the next night (24 hours later). I tried calling, but no person responded and based on their message about their policy it stated that they did not offer transfers to another date or refunds. After losing nearly $100 because of this, I will not do this again and I have been wanting to do a dinner theatre for a long time. In addition, on that phone call. I learned there was a dress policy. I thought I would mention it because their phone message states you can be turned away if not dressed appropriately and you will not get a refund. Nothing I read stated this when booking your ticket. It wouldn't have been a problem but for someone else...
