💕There’s a couple of things that I loved about this place: 1. Customers order at the register instead of the table. 2. You immediately get your dessert or paisley from the bakery as soon as you pay for it. In essence, the baked goods are like appetizers but much FASTER. 3. The kind staff greets you when you come in and when you leave 💚🤍💚🤍 4. The tables and restrooms were clean. Note: The bathroom decals are in French. Just an FYI, Madame means ‘Mrs’ so that you walk into the right restroom. 5. The food was delicious and my entire order was under $38! I ordered a build your own omelette which is originally under $12 with three ingredients. I had tomatoes, spinach, onions, bacon, and cheese. Yes , I know you can order and one te anywhere but this is what I had a taste for 🍳🥚🧀🥓🍅🥬🧅The omelet comes with two slices of tomatoes so you don’t have to add it to the omelet if you wish to save money. Since each ingredient is $1 more , I paid $14, not bad. My daughter ordered a kid’s scrambled egg and bacon with a side of fruit. The kid’s meals are under $6. Each of our meals came with a croissant. In additions, I ordered to vanilla fruit parfaits that were each under $3 and a great proportion. I am very picky about parfaits but the baker did very well with the taste and size ! The fruit didn’t taste watery like some other places. Also, the fruit salad watermelon was cut the perfect bit size. It was sweet and fresh ! If I sound picky, I might be 🤓 6. The atmosphere is very relaxed/ laidback and I saw many different groups of people just as if you were really in 🇫🇷💙 When you walk in, it seems like all the elderly people sit to the right and anyone under 40 seemed to take a left. 7. The baristas/waitresses were wearing cute berets because that’s…. Classic French👌🏽 8. The drinks are self serve. Additional comments: Kind staff and clean bathrooms matter ! ✅💚 This is a snob free environment. There was a rude customer who received judgy eyes for her behavior to kindly let her know to behave 🌝 The croissant was a little dry but still good. I ordered French coffee but the French coffee dispenser was empty. I ended up drinking American which was not any change in price. Four stars total for the great experience and my daughter wants to come back to this family / kid friendly cafe 😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really hate to write this review because I have been a customer of La Madeleine for YEARS and years. I've eaten at L.M.'s in Dallas, in New Orleans, and probably San Francisco. My favorite item to order is the chicken friand. It's usually my go-to entree. Last night (8/8/25), we decided to do a dinner and a movie at home. Since La Madeleine is just down the street from us (like less than a mile), we decided to treat ourselves. We placed the order from home, waited until about 15 minutes for the order to be prepared and then got there, picked it up and brought it home. I opened my chicken friand container and thought "Wow, this looks a little dark." As soon as I sank my knife into it, the pastry basically exploded, crumbled and fell apart. I could not draw my knife through the bottom of the pastry. It was hard and clearly burned. I thought maybe the sauce would make it edible. I just could not eat it. The pastry is what makes L.M. so notable for and this was far, far from that. It was INCREDIBLY disappointing, especially when the item was not cheap. On the plus side, the ham and cheese pastry we picked up for breakfast was edible. But my most favorite dish was burned and quite old. Big time fail, La Madeleine.

On the way home from work, we visited LA MADELINE FRENCH BAKERY & CAFE for dinner, and had an unimpressive culinary experience. The atmosphere is very nice - especially the big warm flaming fireplace on a cold winter evening - but the food was bland and tasteless. We ordered the French Onion Soup and Original Caesar Salad for appetizers, then the Salad Sampler and the Salmon with Kale & Butternut Squash. The French Onion Soup was tasty, but lacked enough cheese and tasty bread. The Salads were quite good - maybe the best part of our dinners. But my Salmon was overcooked, dry and tastless - like a re-heated frozen dinner. We've been to Paris and other cities in France dozens of times, and this was definitely NOT quality French cuisine! Maybe mediocre Parisian café fast-food. To add insult to injury, they only offer 3 selections of tasteless house wine: White, Red, and Rose. A French Restaurant? Yeah Right. There are several other bonifide French restaurants in Old Town and NorthEast. We are not wasting our money again. La Madeline's is NOT RECOMMENDED.

Rudest Young Female at the register today 6.19.24 Have been to this establishment multiple times and had always had great service without any problem of spendn plenty of money Today as I wanted for my to go order, this young female wanted to approach me with a very argumentative attitude "sayn can I get your card to fix some thing you were charged for.." not even an excuse me or civil approach of explanation. This female then goes on to say "You should have told me you wanted to six pack" that of which she is referring to the croissants that I ordered 6 of and 6 mini lemon tarts... I told her you're the employee here and you should be the one noticing there was options of lesser price for the same exact amount was being purchased. She starts to argue with me at the counter in front of serval customers and in front of im assuming the shift manager is whom was at the register he heard the comments of this employee and I keep telln her I am not arguing with you and u are being very unprofessional right now. she finally walks off but goes to several other employees telling them of what was occurring which became very intimidating because all of those other employees that she ran to, to confide in staired me down the whole duration while I waited for my to go order. I explained to tha guy who was refunding and finishing out the order that she was being very unprofessional especially of her with the other employees staring at me and pointing.. the guy does not even turn to look but all she says is "okay, ill talk to her" I ordered also a grilled cheese that in which I ordered bowls of soup then, the guy comes to be and tells me, "I went ahead and give u bowls of soup not cups to make up for this" I chuckled because I said I initially did order bowls of soup, but I guess she didn't do that correctly as well. that behavior was very unnecessary. do not live in ABQ but this establishment was usually a de-stress place my mother and I would go after stressful UNM Hospital appts. but I guess that needs to be reconsidered because this world is hostile enough and I/we should not have to endure that behavior especially from a Stranger who should take pride in her job and be grown enough to admit a...

Was passing through Albuquerque and looking for a place for a nice dinner. Saw this place, looked at the menu online, and decided to try it. Big mistake. When we walked in the girl behind the counter told us to take a menu and look it over and she would take our order. We sat at a table waiting, not knowing we were supposed to order at the counter. Ok, our fault, but I didn't expect that in a "nice" restaurant. We had to go back to the counter to find out that we had to order there, nobody came to tell us. I was ordering the "pick 3" salad/soup, my husband ordered the Crepes Madeleine. I asked about substituting a potato as one of my choices and the counter girl looked confused, (she was so soft spoken we had to ask her to repeat things several times) and said she'd have to charge for it. I just went with the regular pick 3, and tried to order a glass of wine, which any respectable french restaurant should have, asking for a pino grigio, which confused her and she said they only have white wine (lol) I said Chardonnay? and she repeated the "only white wine" statement. In the meantime a gentleman came up and said they only had rose. Ok, a glass of rose it is I guess. Then we apparently had to pay in advance, which felt more like a fast food place, and the machine wanted my husband to put in a tip - I don't know about anyone else but we tip according to service and so far we hadn't gotten any. I got French Onion soup, Caesar's Salad, and fruit salad. The so called fruit salad was a small cup of basic fruit that I could have gotten at Denny's for $1.00. The Caesars salad was adequate but not great, and the french onion was not too bad. My husband's crepe dish came out cold and "muddy" in flavor. The same gentleman that was at the counter and had brought our food came over, and after some discussion took the crepes back and my husband just got a bowl of the F.O. soup. The ONLY reason I gave this place 2 stars is because of the gentleman who did actually give us service, he went above and beyond, I wish I got his name. Everything else about this place was just ..well.. ehhhh. He DID get a good tip, he was the only one that...
