I wanted to buy a trailer which is not available for online purchase. I joined their inside track club just to get the extra 10% discount. I got the ticket with the sku from the display but when I presented it at the register the cashier would not ring it up because it was not in stock. I asked if I could pay to get the discount now because this was the last day of the sale and pick it up when it arrived. The cashier asked the manager but he just shook his head no emphatically and rushed off as if he did not want to discuss it nor deal with me. The poor cashier could see my great displeasure and was just left there apologizing. Harbor Freight does have some good deals but their product quality is really "hit n miss" . I either find myself very pleased or very disappointed. I do hold their credit card but I find myself less and less inclined to shop with them as my negative experiences outweigh the positive...

Around noon on Monday we went to this Harbor Freight to buy a generator. We called ahead of time and they said that they had 6 in stock. We tried to purchase one over the phone, but they said they couldn't do that. We drove to the store and they said that they were sold out. There were several on display (even an empty box under the shelf). They said that they couldn't sell the display models. We asked about getting the one that matched the empty box. The employee snarkily said, "It's an empty box." We asked again and got a rude, "We can't sell display models." We are still without power, 24 hours later. I will never shop Harbor Freight again. Read moreCustomer service here is horrible. They didn't want to honor a 20% off coupon that was clearly indicated for the item to be purchased. Their site accepts the coupon but they said it doesn't apply to this item. After some back and forth, they finally accepted the coupon. They brought the item out and left it at the curb. My 70 year old dad was unable to lift the item and put it in his back seat (didn't fit in the trunk). When he asked for assistance, they said they only load items in the trunk and cannot help otherwise. Thankfully a customer was willing to help and load the item. If the item you're looking for is available at the 1960 or Poter location, I suggest you go there. The employees are much nicer and more helpful there.
