Got my wedding dress at the cumming, ga store- couldn't find their google page so I am leaving the review here. Please note as you read that this is the CUMMING GA store.
I went to this store to try on a wedding dress that I called about- upon entering the store I was told that they didn't have that dress in stock. I looked around to find a different dress and found the dress they claimed they didn't have. Looked great so I got it and all of my bridesmaid dresses. Wedding dress arrived on time and no hitches- although they didn't tell me until the day before my wedding that I needed to purchase a bustle- which I did... and it ripped within 10 min of the reception. cheap.
BRIDESMAID dresses... where do I start? First, one of my pregnant bridesmaids called the shop to delay her dress from shipping in order to change sizes. The store not only delayed hers AND all of the others, but neglected to call me to verify. Keep in mind we ordered these in December and I was not alerted to a delay until march--- until they wanted extra money to "rush" them. After sorting out this mishap with the manager, they agreed to waive the fee. I was so thankful that I would still be getting my dresses after this.
Then, the bridesmaid dresses arrived... TWO WEEKS before my wedding. When the girls got them, they were the WRONG dresses. Now, knowing that there was no way to get new ones in time, I tried to deal with the manager, who for the record is the rudest individual I've ever had to deal with. Without apologizing, she told me that she didn't believe these were the wrong dresses and that I ordered these hideous dresses and had changed my mind. She then told me the dress I wanted didn't exist. THEN after sending a picture of one of my bridesmaids WEARING the original dress, she changed her tune to "I don't know why you think these are ugly, they're actually even prettier." Now, upon finding our receipts for the dresses, the style number that was delivered was the style on the receipt--- unfortunately not the dress the girls tried on in the store.
I still think to this day that the little 17 year old working at the shop couldn't find the BM dresses I wanted and found something that came in the same color. So if you do buy from here, double and triple check the receipt to the TAG on the dress. DO NOT TRUST the shop workers to write the number correctly. I was never once sincerely apologized to. When I walked into the store to talk to the manager about alterations, the girls at the front rolled their eyes and snickered to the manager before giving me a nice snarky smile.
Now, knowing that I needed dresses I was able to negotiated free alterations to attempt to get the Toole and sequins off of these dresses. Unfortunately, after spending $200 per dress, they still had to pay over $100 for hemming and other alterations that "were necessary regardless of style." fine. ok.
The woman who made the alterations on behalf of the shop continually haggled with my girls and tried to get us to pay absurd prices. She argued with my maid of honor that she wanted to be paid cash by each girl-- after explaining that the shop was handling payment because of the mess up, she still insisted that she wanted cash from us so that the shop wouldn't "Take a cut." Each girl also had to drive over an hour twice in one week to see the seamstress--- turns out she has another shop 15 min away from us. I suppose the Manager forgot to mention that after telling her where I lived MULTIPLE times when trying to decide on a contracted seamstress.
Ended up getting the dresses the day before the wedding. Straps were not sewn properly, hemline and zipper had sequins sewn into them, and the hem was basically a cut and iron. TERRIBLE.
I cannot say enough times how rude everyone involved was. by the end I just wanted to go get some target sun dresses and tell this shop to shove it. Myself, my fiancƩ, my family, my bridesmaids, and anyone else who helped calm me down were shocked at how unprofessional this shop...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do NOT recommend it for brides looking for a dress. The person helping us was an elderly lady who seemed not to have the customers' best interest at heart. She spent the first 15 mins talking about herself and not getting to know what I actually wanted in a dress. The appointment lasted a little over an hour, and I was only able to try on 5 dresses because of how slow the whole process was. I wasnāt allowed to unzip or zip up, which was understandable, but the lady would leave the curtain half open for the entire store to see me naked and then take her time hanging up the dress I handed her while I stood there completely exposed waiting for the next dress to be unzipped.
I wasnāt allowed to move around in the dress so each time, everyone would have to enter the dressing room. The lady did not listen and made it clear what she thought wouldnāt look good on me. At one point, after I explained why I didnāt like the poofiness of the dress and after my family agreed with me and how we all liked the slimmer styles better, she said that this dress is better for me because I donāt have curves and it gives me curves while the slimmer dresses donāt look good on me. We kind of all got silent because it was very weird. It was like she wanted to disagree with us and criticize me. If I didnāt like something about a dress, sheād just say, āyou get that alteredā instead of actually listening to what about it I liked or didnāt like. After we went through the first 4 dresses, she just stood there and huffed about having to look for more dresses. She wouldnāt even let my sister pick anything out and said āShe will not like thatā, but after stepping in and expressing that Iām open to trying on anything, it turned out to be one of my favorites. During my appt, I politely asked about the different between a straight dress and an A line dress and she said that itās like a prom dress, and said ādid you go to prom? Probably not.ā Like what?? Why would you be so rude to a customer like that. She never even answered my question. I still have no idea what style any of the dresses were because she kept contradicting herself.
Iām probably around a bridal dress size of a 2, so we tried on sizes 6-8 and pinned them back, but they are very limited in those sizes and you obviously canāt try on dresses that are massive on you. This store definitely has more of a prom dress selection than wedding dresses.
Overall, I gave it 2 stars because they do carry some Morilee āMade with Loveā designer dresses, which is what I was looking for, however when I originally asked the lady about it and referred to the name they use on ALL of their tags āmade with loveā, she just said it was a fake dress designer. I eventually had to point it out to her when we were looking at dresses and I saw the āMade with Loveā tag by Morilee. She still seemed to not care.
Also, just to piggyback off another review, it DOES smell like urine in the main area where the stairs are. We were trying to figure out what it smelled like and came the conclusion that itās like a Fabuloso cleaner + urine mixture type...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis following review is for the CUMMING location.
I was a bridesmaid for the Mary Singleton/Jackson wedding.
I've previously worked in a management position in customer service and if I treated any customer the way the staff at the Cumming store treated me AND the bride, I would have been fired on the spot.
I was added late to the bridal party and did not get to try on the dress that was ordered. The first call that was made to give my measurements was handled very professionally and the woman was lovely. She explained to me the dress sizes normally run smaller in the dress that was picked by the other bridesmaids. This bit of information is the ONLY reason I could zip my dress.
When I called a second time to make the final payment on my dress, the woman I spoke with was the polar opposite of the previous employee. She was extremely rude and very short with me. She hung up without thanking me for my purchase or even saying, 'goodbye'.
The dresses were ordered in December. It wasn't until March that the store called the bride saying they needed to charge her to expedite the dresses in time for the wedding. A bridesmaid had called to delay her dress from shipping to change sizes and WITHOUT contacting the bride the shop delayed all of the dresses.
The dresses came in 2 WEEKS before the wedding and were the WRONG dresses. Since they were the wrong dresses, the sizes were all wrong as well. Thankfully, I had ordered a size up per the suggestion of the woman I had originally spoken to.
When the bride called the store to inform them we receive the wrong dresses, the employee and manager were again extremely rude. One comment I distinctly remember being said was, "All of your bridesmaids signed off on the ticket the day they were here, so I don't understand the issue." I was NOT present at the time and found this despicable.
I had to drive to over an hour to the seamstress for alterations. Since the dress had to be reconstructed at the top, I had to have cups sewn into my dress. When I received my dress, the cups were placed so high there was no way to comfortably wear it. I had to ultimately remove them which cost me an extra $17. One strap wasn't even sewn down. It had a safety pin on it. I ended up paying $106 for my alterations. $106 for misplaced cups and a safety pin.
The saving grace for our dresses was actually the GROOM'S AUNT. Thankfully she is an amazing seamstress and fixed ALL the dresses in her hotel room the night before the wedding.
Hopefully, this honest review will help future brides make an appropriate decision before shopping at the...
