Wish I could give this place a 0! My husband and I along with our daughter ate here on Sunday. I ordered the Jerusalem cheesesteak. I have been to other Mediterranean restaurants before and it comes with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Very much like an American Philly. My husband and daughter ordered a Shawarma sandwich. When they called our numbers, my husband and daughter went to get our food. The employees started asking them “what do you want on your sandwiches? What in the world? Usually you tell them when you order your food what you want or don’t want. (We did this). If you are a Mediterranean restaurant owner, your staff should know how to prepare this cuisine. What goes on it and what doesn’t. When we brought our food to the table, mine was definitely not a chicken Philly cheesesteak. No onion or peppers. No cheese. It was the most nastiest mess I ever had. The meat was dark and pink looking. Definitely not chicken. My husband bit into his shawarma, and was getting pieces of grit and sand. Like little pebble type stuff in the food. Food had NO taste to it either. It was cold and no seasoning. The fries I got was like fries you can get at any fast food restaurant. Usually Greek fries are seasoned. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!
We left and started reading the reviews. Another customer wrote a review stating they had experienced biting into a small rock. They ended up chipping a tooth. So when we read that review, my husband said this place isn’t washing their vegetables off that they use in their food. For example, tabouli is made with parsley in it. So if the parsley is not being washed, your going to be eating dirt, sand, and other gritty sediment including little pebbles. How nasty! Stay away. They are not clean...
Read moreOkay, I come to this place extremely frequently but I hadn't thought to write a review before now.
I make sure I try something new every time I go, and trust me when I say that this place NEVER disappoints. The staff is polite, the food is so good and even when it's crowded there is still great atmosphere.
I tried Turkish coffee, and they gave me no creamer as is customary, it is a MUST TRY!! You may not be used to it, as it's very strong, but it is SO GOOD. I love trying new things, so it didn't hurt.
If it's your first time, I'd suggest the beef shawarma sandwich combo. Get everything spicy, and get all of the other things on it. As the side, try the falafel, and for a drink they do have machines BUT please try one of the juices from the fridge. I also love love love to get a feta cheese pie pocket. It is super reasonably priced, and I could honestly eat from there every day, forever!!!!
And if you want a super fulfilling experience, try the baklava. I had never had it before, and it was magical! It's sort of caramel tasting, I dont know whats in it and ignorance is bliss. It melts in your mouth, and I think there are different flavors available. It doesn't stop there though! I've bought tea and honey from the grocery store in the back, and it is very high quality.
This place is a must must must have, and I can't believe I've lived here for years and not tried it! Please go there, it will...
Read moreI love the food here. If the employees were more efficient and accurate I would be giving a higher rating. I placed a single combo order to go. A large order was placed by the person AFTER me in line. This individual had all of their food made while my ticket was ignored, when my number was called to ask how I wanted it prepped I said “everything spicy” … the employee did not prepare correctly, did not use spicy sauce, Half paid attention to it and thrown on the press with an order that was already on to be heated. Another employee quickly removed all sandwiches from press and mine was not on long enough, less than 30 seconds and is cold now, seeing as they let it sit on the counter for 5+ minutes while prepping/bagging and conversing with the customer AFTER me in line’s order. They left happy with their fresh hot food…… and then finally an employee picked up my ticket, put falafel and sandwich in a bag and handed it to me. Absolutely my order should have been made prior to the person behind me and should have been received 10 minutes earlier and not let to sit while “multitasking” orders. I have never had a bad experience at hwy 9 location and will continue...
