I was driving by when my passenger spotted this restaurant. I did not expect to find a revolving sushi restaurant here, but it was certainly a pleasant surprise.
Cons: The individual cuts of fish are thin and not of the best quality of fish. I would prefer my sushi rice to have more vinegar. I would have preferred a higher quality soy sauce instead of what I believe to be diluted dark soy sauce. It could also just be the specific one I received as I saw they had several different soy sauce containers in their fridge.
Some of the fish were very watery. From the taste, I can tell they take care when defrosting any frozen fish. But I wish they would take one extra step of removing excess moisture from some of the fish.
Parts of the belt had food bits that probably should be more regularly cleaned. (I did come towards the end of the day do keep in mind.)
Last con would be variety. They have the basics down, but that's it.
Pros: The rolls with shrimp inside are somehow were properly crispy and flavorful. Which is rare to find. You would usually find it to not be crispy because of the moisture in the rice. The skill of the sushi chefs are wonderful to watch. The sushi rice is warm! The best indicator for fresh sushi is warm rice. If you sit down at a restaurant and the sushi rice is room temperature or cold, then you aren't getting fresh sushi rice. Regardless of the fish or other on top. Different rice brands definitely have their own distinct taste and there is a very cheap and popular (because it is cheap) brand used in the majority of restaurants that I am 80% sure they are NOT using. The rice tasted like a decent Chinese brand. Certainly not the best quality, but still much better than the previously mentioned brand. I hope my taste buds haven't failed me here. Haha
The kanikama (fake crab meat) used was good quality as well. The server was nice and cordial.
Overall, I had a great first experience. I loved the art on the walls. The sushi exceeded my expectations (that were whittled down by places like Kura). If I am in the area again, I will definitely...
Read moreI've been here at least 8 times in the past two months. It's a really fun place to visit, as the constant parade of food going by is entertaining and, at times, puzzling (what is that dish?).
The layout works well, with both at-counter and booth seating available. The staff are pleasant and not difficult to flag-down. On my visits the number of customers has ranged from just two other groups to being about 60% full. It never felt crowded or noisy (the conveyor mechanism is very quiet).
Each plate (most are $2.25; some veg dishes are $1.75) contains a "just right" amount to sample. A California roll might be 4 pieces, fancier rolls will be 3 pieces, and nigiri such as salmon will be 2 good-sized pieces. There is a good variety of rolls, something for everyone, as well as crispy spring rolls (2 per plate), edamame, cucumber salad, and more.
The only downside is that if you are there in a slow time, you will be seeing pretty much the same items come past you since there aren't many customers taking items off. I haven't done so, but I believe you can request items.
Hot tea is available for $1, and miso soup can be requested at the "veg plate" price of $1.75.
Typically my bill before tip but including a soft drink is about $14, and I will have had a wide variety rolls and nigiri (and even a...
Read moreOne of the best Sushi places in this area. Although the name is difficult to pronounce and remember , the taste of food here is easy to remember. Fresh sushis, wide options , and the best part of all, most reasonable prices in this entire area. I have never had sushis these reasonably priced and at the same time with this good quality. Their pickled ginger is tasty as well. The decor and ambience is nice, the revolving sushi belt is nice to grab quick, ready order. The only thing that was little off was that the order on the revolving belt has no name to it so gets hard to pick the right one. With so many sushi options the only way to pick from the belt is to look at the picture of the sushi and match it on what is in the belt, it's not comfortable, and causes too much confusion. The other thing is it's hard to communicate with the servers because they don't seem too comfortable in speaking in English. But all the little nuances as these are made up for the great food here. Will surely come back and will...
