We went here for our anniversary dinner, and I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by the establishment. The entryway was beautiful with multiple flower arches, which provides an excellent backdrop for selfies/pics with your group or significant other.
There's valet parking as well as self park, but if you are arriving later in the evening, you might as well opt for a valet since the self parking lot is small and fills up very quickly. Even though this place is in the suburbs, it is an upscale place, and the interiors reflects that. The lobby/waiting area is small, and a lot of folks end up waiting outside if the seating area is all occupied.
Our reservation was at 7 pm, but we ended up waiting for an additional 15 mins even though we were there 10 mins early. The smell of the food from the nearby tables was heavenly (it could also be because we were hungry).
We finally got our table on the patio, and it was a lovely table. It was in the corner, but we had a very good view of the patio and the sky with the colors of the setting sun.
The area surrounding the patio was the parking lot which I felt could be blocked out by a wall of shrubs or a low wall because, once it was dark, whenever a car started up we were blinded by their headlights. It's not a total buzzkill, though, and it's easy to ignore once you realize it. A really nice touch for their patio table is that they provide throw blankets in case you feel cold/chilly. The provided table lamp was a cute touch which has 3 colors you can choose from for your comfort. It also has a USB-C charging port in case you need to charge in an emergency.
Our waitress was Pearl, and she was amazing. She made our anniversary day extra special. If you are reading this Pearl, thank you again for your suggestions.
The cocktails were brilliant. We had tehrani fizz, which was ordered a second time because it was so good, ey joonam and God of rainbows. I can say all 3 were good and don't mind having them again myself.
Coming to the important part, the food. The bread and dips are amazing. We had 2 dips, and both were brilliant. We got the dill labneh and Muhumara. The bread is freshly made, and they don't put in any preservatives in it. Them along with subzi, which is a plate of various greens, radish slices, walnuts, and feta cheese, was just so yummy. Frankly, a selection of dips is more than enough for dinner, but we went overboard a bit and went with entreès as well, and it was too much food to eat right there. We had to get them to go. We had a falafel plate and a gheimeh bademjoon, which is lentils and lamb shank dish. Both were extremely good and can definitely recommend.
When Pearl gotta know it was our anniversary, she got us 2 slices of baklava with candles on it. It made our dinner and our celebration extra special. The baklava was just... chef's kiss.
Overall, it is an excellent place to celebrate a special day with your significant other or hang out with family and friends for a get-together. The service was quick and efficient even when all the tables were filled up. For a Friday night, we didn't have to wait more than 5 mins for our appetizer orders to be placed in...
Read moreI recently visited Delbar in Alpharetta, GA and was captivated by the experience. A Culinary Gem!
The food was simply outstanding, each dish a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. The service provided by Rosemary was exceptional, making us feel truly welcome and well taken care of.
The restaurant exudes a warm and inviting ambiance with a touch of casual elegance. The warm orange lighting creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere, while the sparkling chandelier adds a touch of sophistication. The exposed brick wall and open kitchen lend a rustic charm, creating a sense of connection to the culinary artistry. The presence of lush greenery brings a sense of nature indoors, enhancing the overall warmth and inviting feel of the space. In my opinion, this place seems perfect for both a special occasion and a relaxed evening out, offering a comfortable yet stylish setting to enjoy a delicious meal.
I can't wait to return and explore more of their incredible menu!
Here are the details of our dishes: For starter, we ordered the LAMB RIBS which offered a delightful crunch that gave way to succulent meat, enhanced by the sweet and earthy notes of burnt saffron honey and dukkah. The SMOKED BASS was an unexpected revelation, a delicate yet intensely flavorful experience that surpassed all expectations. The smoky notes of the fish were beautifully balanced by the subtle sweetness of saffron honey, creating a harmony of flavors that lingered on the palate. The HUMMUS was a creamy dream, further elevated with the addition of earthy mushrooms, smoky shishito peppers, and a perfectly cooked egg. The accompanying taftoun bread was fresh and warm, ideal for scooping up every last bit of the flavorful hummus.
We accompanied our night with two drinks of their menu: SAUDI MONEY: This cocktail was a complex symphony of flavors, the bourbon balanced by the bitterness of amaro, the sweetness of elbaloo, and a hint of lime. DELBARDIER: Rye lovers will adore this drink, the Tincup rye taking center stage with the Averno and Cappaletti adding depth and complexity.
Our entrees: The WHOLE STUFFED BRANZINO was a delight, the fish flawlessly cooked and its distinctive stuffing a medley of fresh herbs, pomegranate, and citrus. The CHINJEH incredibly succulent, was imbued with the rich flavors of saffron, onion, and a hint of tang from the yogurt. Our server mentioned the beef is marinated in yogurt, which might explain its...
Read moreMy wife and I had the most wonderful dining experience in over 5 years. Delbar in Alpharetta was amazing. First, we were greeted with the nicest concierge when we arrived. Yes, a shout out to the concierge...not sure if they are outsourced or work for Delbar...regardless, they gave us a wonderful greeting upon arrival. It got better...the hostess and the entire hostess team at the front desk greeted us with the most wonderful and welcoming smiles. My wife commented how beautiful they all were and how nice they were.
Then our waitress, Averi, greeted us.... she had the most beautiful smile and spirit. She was so sweet that my wife and I wanted to bring her home. She was just that nice and sweet as was the entire team. It's been some time since I've seen a restaurant truly operate as a cohesive team. We must have met several waiters and waitresses who would bring our drinks, apps and food when it was ready without delay...they were all wonderful and all of them greeted us with a warm smile. The head of staffing...I think Mrs K? even stopped by to make sure all was well. They must all go through same training of kindness.
My wife and I were celebrating a late 21-year anniversary and our neighbor next to us was celebrating their 17-year anniversary and they were also nice. We enjoyed meeting them and expressing how pleased we both were with our experiences.
Then the food and drinks. For drinks, I ordered the Saudi Money...absolutely amazing. It's a bourbon drink with a kiss of lime. It was outstanding. My wife had a drink with a flower in the middle...it was also amazing, but I didn't get a chance to try it...I was too busy ordering another Saudi Money. Both of our drinks were the recommendations from our waitress who seemed to know exactly what would like.
Then the food came out...I had the lamb kabob. It was perfectly cooked...tender and full of flavor. My wife had the chicken kofta and it was perfectly prepared and with just the right amount of spiciness. My wife doesn't like too much spice but loved this dish. For both of our dishes, Delbar delivered on the delicate balance of flavor, presentation, spice and temperature.
I can't say enough good things about our experience, and we can't wait to come back.
Thank you, Delbar, for restoring our love...
