While on vacation away from the seriousness and the snow in D.C., I paid a visit to the beautiful Fabin Rosa, Alta Springs Academy. I've visited a few academies while on vacation in my 3 years of training and this one is by far my favorite. Never in my travels to other academies have I encountered an instructor that greeted me so openly. The mat is filled with warm light from the sun, the people were respectful and best of all, the instruction was pleasingly technical.
As a blue belt, I like to consider myself a novice at best with a passion for everything that Jiu-Jitsu has to offer. I went to Orlando looking to enjoy the sun and meet Mickey Mouse, but when I left… all I could think about was training one more time at Fabin Rosa, Alta Springs. Whether you're in town for vacation or looking for a great place to train and meet new people, I implore you to stop by and simply give this place a try....
Read moreGreat atmosphere where the kids are respected and taught to respect: each other, the coaches, and the rules. I have two kids (7 & 5) and our first time attending were a little intimidating as the kids were out of their element, but the coaches were incredibly nice and supportive of their abilities. After almost a year now, the kids are continue to learn how to deal with stressful situations while under pressure. They’ve had their fair share of minor bumps and bruises, but the coaches do a great job of preventing injuries. The classes have many levels so kids get a chance to grapple with a variety of levels. This helps them gauge their abilities and shows them firsthand what’s possible, no matter what age or size they are. Many great lessons are learned every time we attend, and the kids always have smiles when on the mat.
Very clean place where the mat is cleaned often.
Highly recommend...
Read more(Short Review) WELCOMING, CLEAN, GREAT INSTRUCTOR, and there is NO EGO at this school. Respect and compassion for EVERYONE is made VERY CLEAR through everyone's actions and demeanor.
(Long Review) I have been a passionate fan of BJJ (defensive and competitive) for a number of years. Although, with school/work/money restraints I was always reluctant to join a school. I decided to contact JD at FRBJJ Altamonte and take advantage of the 7-day trial they offer. After attending my first class during the noon session, I went home and washed my GI to return same day for the fundamentals followed by the night class., I. WAS. HOOKED! The head instructor JD is the best, he's extremely patient and passionate about instruction for all ages and skill levels. I can not express how glad I am that I took the leap into BJJ and you CAN NOT find a better school or instructors...
