We almost missed this gem while visiting Amarillo, Texas, but I’m so glad we didn’t! We were lucky that the owner, Dora, was still there around 6 PM and hadn’t closed the shop. She greeted us with a big smile and even offered to take our picture in front of the Route 66 sign outside her store. This charming antique shop is filled with treasures, each room is beautifully organized, with antiques displayed from floor to ceiling. Every wall and corner holds something that will catch your eye. I ended up buying three adorable little spoons ($3 each) and took plenty of photos to remember the visit. Dora has been running the store for over 20 years, following in the footsteps of her mother, who managed it for nearly 40 years before her. She shared so much history about Route 66, which made the experience even more special. Before leaving, we signed the guestbook and Dora gifted us some cute pins, which was such a thoughtful touch. I’m so glad we stopped by, this place is truly a Route 66 treasure!

Texas Ivy Antiques Route 66 Amarillo, Texas We have traveled to Amarillo several times before, and one person we have always wanted to meet was Dora Meroney of Texas Ivy Antiques. We finally got to meet her on this trip, and it was wonderful speaking with her about her shop and about Route 66 Amarillo, Texas. I could tell from the first time that I met her that she is both kind and enthusiastic about Route 66. The store is a really fun place to visit with numerous Route 66 items and souvenirs and also some great looking antiques. Thank you, Dora, for taking the time to meet with us, and we appreciate the time you spent with us.

I'm so glad that they've been able to reopen since the fire last year. It's been 10 months, and the work and the love that has gone into the restoration truly shows! Dora is dedicated to the Route 66 travelers who come her way, and will chat with everyone! I love taking pics with her, and in front of the ivy-covered 66 shield. Great stops, good souvenirs and antiques!
