I will never be returning to this store. Their return policy is horrible and the staff as beyond rude and unprofessional.
My 10 year old son purchased an item (with his own money) and within 5 minutes realized it wasn't want he thought it was so we packaged it up and tried to return it for in-store credit the next day.
They refused to take it back because he opened it and it was deemed "unsellable" by the owner. Quote: "I can't return it because I can't sell it".
This is not stated on the receipt or mentioned at checkout. The return policy is only printed and placed about 4 inches off the ground at the check out counter, which is in my opinion this is a shady and unethical business practice.
An apology was never offered for the misunderstanding, I just received harsh treatment when I pushed back about what the receipt stated and the owner laughed in my face as I left.
I hope someone else doesn't have to experience this...
Read moreVisited Unique Toys for the first time today, and I wish I had come sooner! This store is packed with toy options. From baby toys on up, I think you could find something for anyone. Some of my favorite brands are here - Hape, Melissa & Doug, Ty, Warmies, Fat Brain Toys, and more.
The majority of the toys I saw here are quality items. In this digital age, sometimes nothing can beat a classic wood toy or puzzle. I love buying wood toys and puzzles for my toddler, and Unique Toys has almost all of my wanted items. (The only thing that would put them over the top would be if they carried Grimm's wooden toys, but Hape is my second favorite.)
I also enjoyed chatting briefly with the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and helpful with answering my questions. Visiting the store was a pleasure, and we...
Read moreWe have loved this store so much! However, I took my 3 and 5 year old today for a fun shopping trip and when my newly potty trained 3 year old had to go to the restroom, they told me they didn’t have a public restroom for him and directed me to take him to the gas station down the street (not in walking distance).
We stood there with full baskets and my son grabbing his pants while the owner blankly stared at us with no other helpful option. When I opened my store, the city of Amarillo required us to have a public restroom to operate business. It’s not that they didn’t have a restroom, it’s that they didn’t want to let us use it.
We frequent this business often and their service today was disappointing. As a local business, you...
