I hired Crisp Catering to do a soda bar for my daughters wedding. In the beginning I worked with Carson over text to iron out the details and get my questions answered. He was amazingly patient and diligent in following up with me. This won them the job over their competitors. I wanted to make sure all of the details would be exactly what we were looking for to add to the fun and classy ambiance of our event. I was told that they would bring a 2 servers, black acrylic bar setup, 11 different cold soda options, regular ice (not pebble ice), drink menu, fresh citrus, flavors, and creams so this is what was expected. On the day of the event, 2 servers showed up approximately 45 minutes before the event to set up.. They proceeded to set up with a plastic card table partially covered by a black tablecloth and began to set up all the Torani flavor bottles on top. After passing several times, I noticed they we’re not setting up the black acrylic bar front that I was shown pictures of and was told came with the service. I stopped to ask the 2 servers if they planned to set up the acrylic bar and they said “no, they were not planning to because it is a beast to get out the van and move”. This was very disappointing and frustrating, as our event was set to begin in 20 minutes and the setup looked cheap and ruined the classy look we worked hard to achieve. I had to ask them to set it up and provide the man power (wedding guests that had arrived early) to do so. I ordered a couple of drinks throughout the evening and noticed the drinks were served with no ice. I began noticing our guests had no ice in their drinks either. I had guests tell me they had to go back and ask for ice several times. This was downright embarrassing as our event was on a 90 degree hot summer evening. There is nothing worse than a warm flat soda on a hot day. The drink menu listed lemonade as a option. I had several guests tell me what when they went to order it, they were told they didn’t have any lemonade. The only other complaint that evening was a long line to order a drink. The service came with 2 servers but three were needed to pull it off the way it needed to be done. Maybe this is reason there was no ice. I emailed feedback to Alyssa at crisp catering a week ago and there has been no response or acknowledgement. All in all, this service was sub par and not worth the $$. After leaving this review, the owner of Crisp Catering contacted me and was so responsive and generous with trying to make things right that I am changing my...
Read moreUpdate: I had my wedding yesterday and Crisp Catering was my catering company. I could not give a higher recommendation! First, they actively found a way to make our catering needs work for our event even though it was on a holiday they are closed for. People volunteered to come in to help us. The volunteers were outstanding. Everyone complimented the food and drinks. We had a soda bar and the taco bar. Food was delicious. Drinks were ice cold and delicious. The staff was so incredibly sweet and kind! I could not have asked for a better experience at an unbelievable price. They showed up on time. Did not close down until the exact minute we had agreed on, left no mess, and were just outstanding. I will hire them again in a heartbeat! We had 75+ guests and it was. Lear they could have handled 2-3 times that many with efficiency and grace!
I just want to state that I haven't hired Crisp Catering at this time. I contacted them on The Knot though for my wedding reception. They were extremely quick to respond and their pricing is phenomenal! Unfortunately their regular business days do not include my wedding date which as it is Memorial Day Holiday I COMPLETELY understand! When I reached back out to ask about pick up options etc and maybe we could pre-order food as we have a place to store it the communications coordinator immediately responded again with letting me know that she is going to see if they find a way to accommodate my event. I was blown away. Even if they cannot find anyone to work it as it is a holiday, again completely understandable, I'm so IMPRESSED with them even offering to try and find a way to help me have a great wedding reception. Truly blown away by their customer service off the bat and on that alone I would recommend them without ever having eaten a bite...
Read moreI never leave negative Google reviews but I feel the need to do so simply so that nobody else has to go through what I went through.
I ordered catering for a large corporate event. 90 people RSVP’d for the event. I ordered for 120 people. We ran out of food at about 50 people. The very young staff stated that it was because people were taking more than two sliders each. Yes, a handful of guests did take more than 2 sliders, but the sliders were absolutely tiny and we still should not have run out of sliders after only 50 people (even if they were taking 3-4 sliders each). Your portion sizes are very off, if that is case. After reading other Google reviews for this business I found that others have had this same issue which caused the exact same embarrassment for them. Food for 120 people should feed 120 people, not 50, and that is not on the person placing the order or the people eating the food. I had to announce to a line of 50-60 people that we ran out of food. I then had to scramble to order 12 pizzas to feed the remaining people who did not get food.
Communication before the event was prompt and very responsive which is ultimately why I chose to use Crisp. We asked them to do a two-sided line so that people could get through quicker. They stated they couldn’t as they didn’t have enough food warmers (that should have been my first clue that they were going to be short on food). This caused an incredibly long line to form. Kallie, the POC, was as professional as she could be under what was a very stressful situation for all of us. The service was not cheap and at the end of the day many people complained that the food was subpar, and the burden of your shortcomings was placed on me to solve while I was in the middle of running a huge...
