Simba Parking Lot — Local services in Anaheim

Visited Downtown Disney and had a great time until we tried to leave. This parking lot has a serious design flaw - only one single lane to exit for what looks like 1000+ cars.

Our family sat in gridlock for an hour and a half just trying to get out. Kids crying, no access to restrooms, complete standstill. The worst part? Looking at other reviews, this has been happening for at least 8 months. Same complaints over and over.

From a safety perspective, this really concerns me. What would happen if there was an emergency and everyone needed to leave quickly? One exit lane for this many vehicles seems dangerous. I contacted Disney guest services about this and they dismissed my concerns completely. They said the matter is closed even though this is clearly an ongoing problem affecting many families.

If you're a local and get stuck in this mess, I'd suggest calling Anaheim Fire Department to report the traffic hazard - especially if you're trapped for an extended time. Maybe if enough people speak up about the safety issue, something will change.

For other parents - be prepared for a very long wait getting out, especially on busy nights. Plan bathroom stops before returning to your car. Maybe consider other parking options if possible. As of March 25, 2025, The validation that you can have on the parking ticket is the only one time from one store or restaurant. I shopped at one souvenir store and spent more than $20, but we asked the store clerk to hold on to the validation stamp. Because eating at a table of a restaurant gives us $10 for a 6-hrs-deal. ( $20 more shopping at a store or quick service at a restaurant gives us $10 for a 4-hur-deal.) Unfortunately the restaurant we chose had a long waiting line and my friend was not feeling well, so we decided to not eat and go back to the hotel. I went back to the store clerk to get the validation on my parking ticket. So, I could get $10 for 4-hrs-deal. We spent 3.5 hrs at Downtown Disney District and at the time we exited from the parking lot was 3 hrs 52 minutes. I paid $10 at the parking exit.

Making sure that one parking ticket can have one validation only. 2) Go eat at one of the restaurants ( dinning in) and get 6 hrs $10 deal validation if you want to spend more than 4 hrs in the district. 3) even though you spent $1500 at the souvenir store and got a validation from there, you can have only $10 for 4 hrs deal. 4)Once your parking ticket is validated, you can't have validation from other restaurants or other stores. 5) Be careful watch the time to make a plan... because the time doesn't stop until the exit/payment at the parking exit...

While the parking lot is safe and Huge the price of the parking lot is ridiculous! Be sure to take your parking stub with you into the shopping/dining area. And have one of the dining establishments validate it. The place we ate at gave us 4 hours (Black Tap burgers and shakes) excellent food, service and staff 💯 %. We asked one of the stores we spent 600.00 at and they could only give a 1 hour validation... what a joke! But spend 100.00 for dining and you get...
