Went here for Uhaul so a friend could rent a trailer. Took 5 minutes for the person working the rental counter to come out of the back room. When he did, he hardly said a word. Waited until the very end of getting everything entered in their system to ask for our license plate number and hitch weight rating. Seems like that should be the first thing they ask for, and at the same time, especially when there is an extra person involved. He waited until after I returned with the license number to ask about the weight rating. After completing the paperwork, he walked around the counter without saying a word and as he was walking away turned around and told us to "Come on, we're done here." There was no damage inspection done with either me or my friend who rented the trailer. And after the employee hitched us up, he just said "You're all set," and walked off without doing a light check. Thankfully I've towed enough trailers to know how to do it myself to make sure I wasn't going to get a ticket due to faulty wiring. To top it off, when I unhitched at the end of the day I noticed the trailer wires were hooked between the hitch receiver and safety chains, which caused significant wear on the wiring insulation. It doesn't look like I need to make a repair, but it was something that shouldn't have happened to begin with.
Returning the trailer was an entirely different experience, and why this is two stars instead of one. A different gentleman helped us with the return. As we walked up to the counter, he greeted us with a smile. He joked with my friend as we walked out to the trailer for him to inspect and give us the okay to leave. He wished us a good night and told us we could take off if we didn't want a receipt. Complete opposite of the experience just 8...
Read moreGolly! Not so great. I appreciate that they had the faucet and wrench that I needed, since I was in Anderson, and didn't want to drive back to Redding to get them both for quite a bit cheaper. However, I had to go back a little while later the same day (9/12/25) and get some 3/4" PVC couplings. There was no way I could buy those... they were very short couplings, the shortest I've ever seen. I can't use parts on a job that I need to warranty that I can't trust to hold over time. So I walked right back out, and drove up to Aamigos Supply on Airport Rd to get the needed parts. I appreciate the store being Anderson, and they are well-stocked, but seriously, stock the store with better/longer PVC fittings. Make your parts worth buying there, otherwise it's worth the time and effort to go elsewhere to get better quality PVC fittings. I apologize I didn't think to take a picture of the couplings... I had the correct one in my hand when I went in, so it would have useful to those reading this to actually see how big a difference there is between standard-length fittings and what they had...
Read moreWhen you walk through the store and you hear other employees saying disgusting and slandering remarks about other employees and you see the store manager (Erika Parker) laughing about it, you know the environment can't be good.
I know a couple VERY hard working people at this store who have either been fired for literally made up lies or tortured through purposeful hour manipulation, bogus write ups, management retaliation to questioning operations or missing money and the utter uncaring demeanor of the owner Marty.
Seriously, if you care that the employees at the place where you shop are treated well, do not shop at this Ace Hardware, choose any other Ace but this one and if you care that the owner is also part of the problem, do not shop at the Eurkea Blvd. or Shasta Lake City Ace either.
This information has been gathered over nearly 2 years, there is so much more that I could write. For the record, I am not an employee of Ace Hardware nor have I ever been employed by Ace Hardware.
PS. Look at Yelp, there are many more negative reviews like...
