Issues with this hotel Window barely cracked open - how children get stolen. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where it’s cracked. It should be shut AND locked. If open it should be wide open. My room is even on the ground floor which makes this that much more dangerous. Hot tub is not hot or even warm - when I brought this up to the front desk they expected the previous front desk lady to have told me this when I checked in. Instead, I was told during check-in that the pool was heated. I feel deceived. The showers were not hot. They only get warm. I do like my showers very hot, but not a big deal. To open the shower door from inside the shower, you grab a little stub that is an extension of the handle that is only available from the outside of the shower. The shower has no shelves in it. Hold your things or put them on the ground… The gym is not available. Had I known this, I would have selected one of the other hotels in the area - ones that were closer to the YMCA in Redding. Not actually really an issue, but there are two big pictures across my room of big mountains reflecting over a lake. They are the same picture which feels weird. There were ants in my room. One came out of the AC as soon as I walked into the room to turn the AC on, and one was on my bed I found later that evening. I brought this up the front desk lady, and she said somebody would be in contact with me. I told her I didn’t care about the ants, but I expected her to care! I truly didn’t care because it’s just two ants. However, nobody ever reached out to me, and I highly doubt it was ever looked into after my depart. I reported this the morning after my first night and was in the room for one additional night. Their lack of concern for bugs concerns me. The drapes don’t block the parking lot lights so I used a chair to pin them to the wall. Loudest upstairs people I’ve ever experienced. They were moving all around the room. They kept me up from 2:30-4AM. Then I woke up again at 6 to the sound of them walking around. Then, I confirmed they checked out because when I returned to the hotel the next day, the room was being cleaned and vacuumed. The guests for the following night were just as loud. I had to sleep with ear plugs and white noise playing. Because of this, the building is certainly partially to blame. Movement is amplified. It was so loud. Toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom is terrible. It does not work for a full roll of paper. You can’t pull a strip of more than 3 pieces because the friction from the dispenser is stronger than the cohesion of the paper. 100% smoke free hotel, but people smoking weed in the parking lot. $5 to wash clothes (not including dryer). I thought perhaps this is a California thing, but the next hotel I’ve stayed at is $2.50. I’ve never seen a hotel in my life where washing clothes is equal to a gallon of gas. Maybe I just missed out on the clothes washing of a lifetime…

Read moreThis place has potential to be literally amazing. Lovely building, even though it is a bit older. The pool is fantastic. My first stay the summer of 2023 was ok even though the in room spa was broken. The desk clerk Mike and the gorgeous indoor pool made it so pleasant I decided to stay again at Christmas 2023. First of all, I called at booking to verify pool access then called again two days prior to my stay to be sure we got the room with the working spa. Excellent experiences both times. Then came day off check in..... While en route a very pushy person called from the hotel told us there was a problem with the room, offered two options, a metal key as the door was an issue or a King room with a roll out. I specific refused the roll out accepted the metal key. Then came time to check in. The front desk clerk was increasingly hostile and things got worse from there. This person refused to hear what my actual needs were and treated me so rudely I was responding with two words by the end of church or "yes ma'am " which according to Miss ai am in control of my hotel, was said gate too rudely for her to accept. She actually threw me out of her hotel. Her hotel. Funny that, we are the reason she has a hotel, guests I mean. Asking for the manager did no good what so ever. The manager, AJ was processing to check me in when another guest, waiting to speak to management about another issue, a problem with their room, and I were in conversation. I said this specific sentence "It's really a lovely property, the pool is gorgeous. It's not my first stay, I couldn't figure out why it's listed as a 2 star hotel. Now I know why, I have never been treated so badly in my entire life!". AJ's , the actually hotel manager, response was to join his desk clerk in throwing me out of their hotel. This isn't a two star hotel, it is a four star property with minus -4 star staff making it a zero star flop I cannot recommend. It's not the only hotel in Redding that has a lovely pool. I found FIVE other options and had a perfectly lovely stay in a hotel that's clean everywhere and made myself and my family welcome. I wouldn't take a chance on Baymont Anderson. By the way I am a light skinned POC and am certain my lack of Caucasian was the reason his clerk and the manager AJ felt it was ok to treat me as sub human. May God provide for them both exactly what they deserve for not just me but every person they have believed and discriminated against. I guess I should be grateful in a small way, I met some wonderful people at the other hotel who went out of their way to make my family comfortable pool side in a much cleaner, quieter and more refined...
Read moreUnprofessional staff and owner. I had too many kids so instead of being offered my choices, I was charged extra money for the kids without my consent. I would have used a different atm card and I would have rented another room. But I was not spoken to or given the option to do so. Staff is untrained in professionalism. I was told by Breanna that check out was at 11am (it's 1130am). I said I have a late check out at 1pm. She said they don't offer a 1pm late check out. For context, after I reserved my room, you receive an email to check in ahead of time and if I want to add on checking in early and out late. They have 2 different times. The latest was 3PM for check out! Why do employees/staff not know this!!?? It was clearly in my file I had paid for this option. If one employee had checked my records, they could have informed hotel housekeepers of my late check out. They failed there. Then they failed by not checking themselves before coming to me to tell me we should check out. I was spoken to rudely and when they went to check and saw I was right no one said anything. Not one apology for anything. These were my top two complaints. Additional to these, the hotel room had wallpaper peeling, lights out not fixed, one light had an LED strip in front of it instead, the headrest to the hot tubs were falling apart, the room had one towel, one hand towel, and no washcloths. The plugs in the walls did not all work. Some could not hold the plug. Our bases would just fall out. The hotel had a towel shortage, they did not have towels for the pool area until after 4pm. We checked in at 1pm. I had to buy towels for the shower. Also, staff said they received complaints of my kids running the hallways. My kids were at the pool. I asked to see the surveillance but when I asked, the owner just said no no its ok no worries. In the end, if I had received the proper communication, options, and service I would happily pay for what is needed. I am not trying to ignore that. But if you do not tell me, it's a problem, how should I know? And educate your employees to look at what a customer has paid for before instructing them they should check out. Do better in communicating and speaking with the customer BEFORE you charge them anything extra. Overall this was a crappy experience. Holiday Inn in Red Bluff last year was great. We only chose Baymont because my family had stay there before and the rooms were supposedly bigger. We will not be back. I'd rather stay at...
