I would give zero stars if I could. My fiance and I went to this auto shop because it was a "Christian" business and we assumed they would be honest people. We were wrong.
Most auto mechanics do a free diagnostic, or at least one at a reasonable price. Not this place. They charged us $189 to tell us what we already told them was wrong with the vehicle, because we have a scanner and checked it ourselves before we brought it in.
The biggest issue with the vehicle was that a sensor was broken and needed replacing. We looked up the cost of this sensor, and it was anywhere between $70 - $150. They charged us $350 for this part, and then $500 for the labor to literally just unplug the old one and plug the new one back in. Supposedly they worked on this thing for 4 hours? Yeah right.
Then they charged us $300 dollars to replace the wiring harness on our headlight, something that we realized after the fact would only cost us less than $50 to do ourselves. Over $200 of that was in labor alone. There is no way it took these guys more than 20 minutes to swap out a headlight.
He also tried to tell us it would be around $200-300 to replace the tail light on the vehicle, which we declined. We ended up going to an auto parts store, buying the bulb for like $5, and were able to replace it in about 5 minutes.
Another thing that was slightly annoying, but not as big of an issue was that somehow along the way they managed to unplug something so that the dome lights in the vehicle no longer come on when you open the door. We were so annoyed already that we just ignored this.
We felt like we had been ripped off, but as long as our problem was finally fixed, we were okay with it. Then, not even 2 months later, the Stabilitrack light came back on and it was grinding again. I contacted them via the form on their website, and no one ever got back with me about it. I called them hoping to have them look at it again, but after seeing the reviews on here and how they treat customers who have had bad experiences with them, I am certain they would just politely tell me to screw off and try to charge me the same amount again.
Don't waste your time or money here. They may act nice, but being charged three times the cost of a normal mechanic is not worth it.
EDIT (after the owner's rude response):
First off, have some professionalism please. I do not deserve to be spoken to like I am incompetent. In fact, your incompetence is what caused this poor review.
Like I said, my fiance brought the car in. It's his name on the account, not mine. And "complain for the sake of complaining"? I think if you read my review, you would see that I am complaining to warn others and help them avoid being scammed.
It's sad that you seem to think it's appropriate to insult your customer's intelligence. In spite of what you believe, I am capable of using modern technology, I am aware what year it is, and I know that phones still work. In fact, I DID call you guys directly after receiving no response (again, like I already said). But then I came on here to see any negative reviews, and when I saw the way you rudely replied to anyone who has ever had an issue with you, I was not hopeful that you guys would work with me at all. Which is why I'm choosing not to have you rectify the situation. I don't feel like being ripped off $1500 again only to find the problem still broken.
You didn't "help me." You tripled the cost of normal auto work and left me right where I started. So no, I don't want your help in the future. Thanks for proving my point by being rude and...
Read moreSteer away from this auto shop!!!!!!!! I wish I could give zero star but google wouldn't let me. This is my first time ever leaving a review on Google so that describes how angry I am with them.
Here is the story: I went to my dealership and found out that I need new brake rotors, pads and sensors due to rust that would cost me $1250 to replace everything. I wanted a second opinion thus went straight to Louie & John's from the dealership since they are very close and they have the most google reviews that I've seen by far (very odd). I walked in and everyone was just so nice and bubbly (Be aware, that's how they get all of your money). They asked me for $86 to do a brake inspection and their reasoning for that is they cannot rely on what the dealership shop says regarding what my car needs and said that if I decided to let them replace these parts after, they can take out the $86 from the final total amount. I said ok.
They got my car up and 45 minutes later they tell me that not only do I need new rotors, pads and sensors, I also need new calipers at the front, and additional labor cost to "loose up" the rear ones. Guess how much they quoted for me, $2880! They explained to me that the dealership people didn't catch this problem and if the dealership people were to change my rotors, half way in the process they would ask me for more money to change these calipers because they are not working anymore. I told the techanician that I need to think about it because it's a lot of money. I came out of the shop and called my friend who knows about cars and he suggested that I bring my car to his place and have him look at it first before letting louie & John's do anything. I hung up the phone, went in and told the techanician that I would not do the replacements today. I can tell you that his face immediately sank. I went back to the waiting room and sat there waiting for them to put my tires up. The owner, John came to the waiting room and called me out to the outside. He asked me what my plan is and kept asking me why I wouldn't use their service. I told him that I would have my friend look it over for me first. (During the conversation, he also questioned if my friend has the proper tools.) I came home, called my dealership again questioning why they didn't catch the issue with the calipers. The phone guy said he will go ask the guy that worked on my car earlier and call me back. This is the best part of the story. He called back and told me that the guy who worked on my car earlier specifically remembered that all my calipers were functioning perfectly fine. I felt so cheated by Louie & John's at this point!
It got worse. I went to my friend's place later. He first confirmed that I do not need new calipers. Then he found out that not only the guys at Louie & John's over torqued all of the lug nuts on my tires, one of them got so worked that it broke my wheel hub! I don't know much about cars except from driving them but he told me that a wheel hub can easily cost $250 to replace. I cannot describe how mad I am at this point!
Luckily my friend decided to help me replace all these parts and only charge me for the parts which comes down to only $450.
If I don't know somebody that knows about cars I would have got ripped off by Louie & John's and paid $2880 for things I didn't even need at the first place. So, to summarize my experience, do not go to this auto shop! Let me repeat that. Do not go to...
Read moreI own a 2012 Acura MVX, one day i was getting an alarm on my dash of B-13 so i stopped by the Acura Dealership in Ann Arbor to see what it might be. They told me it meant a tire rotation, oil change, brake inspection and transmission oil change. The only thing I didn't have Complete Auto do is the tire rotation, as Belle Tire does it free when you buying tires from them. Compelte Auto is a family owned business!! I had Complete Auto do the brake inspection and gave me a price to replace them. It was much lower in price and they used factory parts like the car Dealership and they would do much more than the car dealership would do for me. Plus they advised me my transmission was leaking that i need to take it to the dealership while it was under warranty to get it fixed, this is a major job to fix that... They also advised me my wheels were out of alienment. The Complete Auto upon entering their store they offered me a loaner car and told me they would take care of me. In fact for much less ($) than the car dealership quoted me. The next day I stopped backed on the way to work and my car was done. It was washed and clean, the staff met me with smiles on their face and the car was ready to go. I have done much business with Louie & John's shop and they run circles around the many other competitors in town I have tried in the past. They make me feel that they really care about my well being, do the job right. A lot of shops cut corners, these guys educated me on the problem and why they needed to do it the way they did it, which takes a little longer than others would have done the repair in turn would last me many times longer. I have been getting cars repaired for over 40 years and I know what the normal cost to repair something. The car dealerships are twice the price and they lie a lot, i don't trust them. Once i went to a dealership, Jim Bradley GMC, not in business any more, they told me my brakes were 80% gone. I looked at the pads myself and they had less than 10% of the pads gone. They lied to me, i called the owner of the Dealership, Jim Bradley out to the shop and looked at them and he agreed with me. His mechanic lied to me. I trust Complete Auto Service Shop. I can send my daughters to them and trust they will treat them fair or the same way as me, as i think there goal is return business, they proved that to me multiple times. They are very honest with me and only want to do the job right so i am a repeat customer. My Brakes feel like the car is new and nothing was done. I give them a 10 star for the best rate I could rate them. They are a pleasure to do business with. ...
