I typically do not write a bad review.. in fact there's only been very few. Let's start with the room ac was not cold at all- and the refrigerator was at a stall. That's right, it too , was not cold- but I thought, I'm still sold. Here for work, every morning the front desk lady was a real jerk- fine with other customers and pleasant as can be- maybe I'm a chic with a bow tie and she didn't like what she seen- 2 mornings I walked up to the front desk with her nose in the air staring at the cumputer screen- to me- that's rude as can be. No staff speaks English according to the front desk workers. They walk around like lurkers. Can you please tell me where the gym is, as I'm pumped and ready to start my day- it's over there around the way. Good grief, IL find it on my own, that lady is not friendly- and only one treadmill wasn't blown. That's right, nothing worked except that, so I thought let's lift weights and build some muscle from this extra fat. Nonono- those weights are heavy, not a small one in sight, so I went outside for a walk and then came in for a bite. The food was awful and the same every single day, hashbowns were so hard they could literally roll away. I am not a complainer by any means- I appreciate I was able to sleep and have good dreams. When I went to check out, I asked for 2 separate receipts so I could turn in for back pay, all of a sudden 123$ was added that day. I had made them aware of the issues in the room, the TV was broke and electrical hanging out ready for doom. I didn't realize until I got home of the extra charge, so I called and the the man's voice was very large. As in, he was talking over me and I had to ask him to stop and respect me while I'm speaking, he finally gave me a discount for the ac leaking. Shouldn't have came down to any of this, and I wouldn't recommend and you won't miss. Their prices say one thing while they charge another, there's no compassion for their sister or brother. You can do better than this, I know you can- but for now- I'm...

Our room had an adjoining room and the door would not lock (Rm. 306). The deadbolt literally just spun in a circle. I felt incredibly uncomfortable knowing the party on the other side could just come in at any point.
The outlets in our room weren’t working well or at all for some. The one on the bedside lamp has a short or something in it. The one below the desk area wasn’t working, nor was the lamp on the desk.
While it was nice having the Keurig in the room to use, it was dirty and I had to clean it prior to using it. Overall cleanliness of the room was iffy, but we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep. I shouldn’t have to clean a room though when I’m paying $100+ for a night.
I was traveling with my mom and my two small children. My mom is disabled and uses an electric scooter to get around. Thankfully I was there to assist her, or she would have been unable to get to the breakfast area. While she was able to get to the upper seating area via a ramp, the food was down steps into a lower kitchenette area and entirely inaccessible for her. It was disappointing that this wasn’t accommodated for all people to have access to and there was nobody around to assist.
We had used the pool the night of check in and it was ok, but you could tell the chemicals were off as the pool was incredibly cloudy and high smells of chlorine. The hot tub wasn’t full enough and water was just splashing all over the place. The pool was closed the day of our checkout so that was disappointing as we had asked for a late check out to enjoy the pool.
Overall, I wasn’t thrilled with our stay, but I will likely give it another chance and see if it’s better. We are frequent visitors to the area due to the close proximity to U...
Read moreI stayed at the Wyndham Garden Inn in Ann Arbor for two nights because I needed to be close to the University of Michigan. Unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations, and I would strongly advise others to consider alternative accommodations.
First, the hotel is clearly understaffed. Only one person was working the front desk, and I did not see a single maintenance or housekeeping staff member during my stay. I had completed the pre-check-in online, but still had to go through the full check-in process upon arrival, which felt redundant and inefficient.
The room was dirty upon check-in. The bathroom had already been used — a truly unacceptable first impression. The lobby smelled unpleasant, and the seating was heavily stained and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The pool area also appeared neglected, not adequately maintained or clean.
Breakfast was another letdown. It was a very basic continental selection that didn’t look fresh or appealing. I grabbed a banana, but it was too soft and brown to eat.
My family also stayed at the hotel, and their experience was even worse. Their room was filthy — they had to wipe down surfaces multiple times until the wipes stopped turning brown. Around 10:30 p.m., the electricity in their room went out, and they were moved to another room, which turned out to be just as bad. They ultimately canceled their reservation and left the hotel.
Overall, this property is in desperate need of better staffing and basic cleanliness standards. It was disappointing on nearly every level. While the location is convenient, that’s the only upside — and certainly not enough to make up for the condition of the hotel. There are plenty of other options in Ann Arbor — do yourself a favor and...
