We've been to this location countless times. My son is 5 and we've been coming since he was 18 months old. This used to be our fave location. The potstickers are good. However, I am completely disappointed in their customer service. We ordered half spicy and half of their new sauce sweet tangy. My son, who's 5, didn't like the taste and I asked the waiter, who asked the manager, if we could get them with the ginger. Manager said "the best he could do was pour the sauce over them" vice getting us a new set without the old sauce on it. I've never seen that before. Then, was told we could only get the spicy mayo if we asked for it. Thankfully, it's still free. They've changed the menu, fyi. Needless to say, we will not be back here especially since the manager couldn't remake our tenders for a 5 year old. This picture is of the added sauce to the wings. I'm hoping the Alexandria or Arlington locations are better than this place. This location's customer service is in the toilet...and the sad part is the waiter knew what his manager said/did was bs, but he could do nothing about it. I remember when this place opened....le sigh. Hopefully, their competitor across the street treats their customers better since that's where we'll be going henceforth.
The manager clearly takes his customers for granted. I watched him sit down and eat food and then hop up to place someone's order and head back to the kitchen. Granted, I cant see back there as they have a curtain, but I do hope he washed his hands. We won't be back and recommend you go elsewhere, too. I was so pussed off about this experience that I wrote it...
Read moreMy wife and I tried this place last night. She got the Bulgogi and I got a medium order of soy garlic wings for us to share. Let's jump right into it.
-Plenty of parking. -Nice staff from my one interaction at the front desk. The man was actually from South Korea and we were able to connect because I have been there myself. He was really nice and patient with us scouting the menu. -The soy garlic wings are absolutely phenomenal. I love their sauce. I wouldn't recommend spicy and neither would the man at the front desk I spoke to. Spicy in Korea is super spicy. -Their bulgogi was not the same as nearby restaurants or even remotely close to the deliciousness I had in South Korea. It was a very chewy and stringy, dry cut. I hate comparing different places but even if I didn't, still wasn't good bulgogi. -The pricing was a little steep. About a dollar a wing. I'm not super upset at that, but $17 for a bad bulgogi plate is a rip. -Can get takeout. -15 minute wait typically for wings. Didn't bother me. Just a warning. -Restaurant smells like a Korea market. -Restaurant seemed like it had a decent amount of dine-in space and is open late.
Either way, glad to have found this place and will definitely return for wings. Annandale is a Korean food hot-spot and it's...
Read moreI just got done with my meal at this location. Very disappointing. I arrive to a host that didn’t even greet (on cell phone) followed by a cold “where do you want to sit.” I was along so I opted for the bar. I didn’t even sit down when she asked me what I wanted to drink in a rushed fashion (mind you there are only 4 tables seated). I asked for a drink menu (which she points to the draft beer and soda options in front of me. At which point I just ask for a Blue Moon. I order the drumsticks in and my order took over 25 minutes to come out, in addition it came with the wrong sides ( which was fixed). Fortunately I wasn’t supper hungry to turn hangry at the point, just annoyed. Asking for the bill was another moment of having to wait long. The service was cold, not hospitable and very transactional. There was also a mess on the bar counter that was distracting and overflowing to the area I was eating (they use this section to prep to go orders from what I witnessed). I have heard of Bon Chon and have been wanting to try it but the experience makes me want to...
