Place is terrible. The gym culture here sucks. People are terrible about reracking weights, leaving trash or water bottles laying around, common dumbbells go missing for days, and the bathrooms and showers aren't ever clean. They clean them regularly but you can tell it's just going through the motions when cleaning.
10/5/22 update The dumbbells for 10,15,20lbs are all missing now. Been like this for a long time now. I always have to search for a 10 and 25lb plates for barbell exercises. When I brought up the dumbbells to the front desk, guys response was "I'm trying to get some from another gym."
What? Why can't we spend 150 bucks and buy some??? Plane is turning into a planet fitness.
11/11/22 update Still no new dumbbells. Missing multiple sets. Front desk manager even called me out for this review and said he was getting new dumbbells next week. This was over a month ago. Asked me to change this review when the dumbbells we're updated.....and here we are. This gym sucks.
2/17/23 update Still no new dumbbells. Multiple treadmills don't work. There's 5 yoga mats for the entire gym. Soap dispensers in the bathroom don't work. Supposedly under new management, nothing's changed. Place is sub par at best. Management doesn't care.
3/22/23 update
Around 530pm there was no soap in any of the dispensers in the men's bathroom. Overheard a gentleman say he told the front desk the hour prior to him starting his workout. Trash cans were overflowing. STILL no dummbells. Still no 10lb plates. And it seems to be getting harder to find a 25lb plate. Multiple treadmills, bikes and cardio machines are "under repair".
5/18/23 update They finally patched the crumbling rubber floor tiles. Still no dummbells. Multiple multiple machines have out of service signs on them. I was on the treadmill today and the decrease speed button didn't work at all. Made it real interesting when I was trying to stop my mile sprint....I told the front desk girl and she said "thanks" and didn't even ask me which one so they could at least mark it out of service. Someone is going to get hurt.
I've spoken with a Jessica and a Karen on the customer service number. Nothing gets done. I said something to the operations manager on site, Chris, and he says he submitted paperwork to get new equipment and corporate does nothing.
Update: 7/19/23 WE GOT NEW dumbbells! And some new 10lb plates! Thank you mgmt š
Update: 1/16/25
There was a glimpse of hope this gym was moving in a better direction after we got new dumbbells but things have still not gotten much better.
I spoke with Tyler (manager) close to 2 months ago, sent some pictures of broken machines in an email, he told me that every machine I sent in was on the list to be fixed.... But I'm still staring at broken machines including a bike that you can't adjust the seat post on because it's missing the pin. The only person that can use this bike is someone that's 5ft tall. The one right next to that is still missing straps.
All of this was discussed on the phone and I was told it would be fixed.
I will not accept the excuse of "waiting on parts" because 2 months has now gone by and stuff still isn't fixed. There isn't any supply chain issue that's 2 months long anymore, especially not on gym equipment.
I keep hearing "we're gonna fix it, were just waiting on parts." You guys are just not doing what you say you are going to do.
The front door too this club is broken for the 5th time. I wonder how long that will take to get fixed?
This is the worst club I've ever been a mother of in the 20 years I've been going to a gym. But you guys have signs posted around the gym asking people to "leave a review". I've left a 1 star review years ago and still update it with dates so people can know what they're getting here, and nothing continues to be done.
Currently on one of the stationary bikes and can see 7 broken machines from where I'm at. There's at least 3 broth stair masters on the other side of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just finally made the decison to leave htis gym over 2.5 years. I was very loyal and acti ve memeber. Equipment does not get repaired, in fact people jokinly write message son the "out of order" signs onthe equipment. Onc epoiece we trakced took well over a year to fix. I have visited over 20 LA Fitness locations across the country and htis is by far the absolute worst. The equipment is old and not maitained. I have made multiple comkpalaints about the condition to both the local and regional manager and htings rarely get fixed. The gym does not enfore rules what so ever, so if you have any type og gym etiquette , you will hate this place. When you ask the staff ot enforfe their own rules, they do not. The staff swould rather just sit there ontheor phone the entire time. I had another issue yesterday and finally had enough. I tried ot get the staff to enfore the rules, and was very fristrated. I explained to "Marshall" my issue, who then cliamed that he allowed people to play their own music an dhave gym bags on the floor. I advised him this against LA FITNESS policy, he then told me I WAS BANNED FORM THE GYM!!!! i got threatened with a ban because i complained. I then logged acompalint with the manager, Tyler. Tyler must be way to busy becuase he said the earliest he could respond was Monday. After tha ti cancelled the membership. The only reason i stayed as long as i did was an employee who really does care. His name is Isianh and he is fantastic! In closing, dont waste your time or money, this gym is complete cess pool. They also let unaccompnied childred just swim in the pool till 11 at night. Also logged a formal complaint abou that and was never resolved....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a member for 3+ years. Only reason for the longevity is the fact that this is the cheapest gym membership in the area aside from Planet Fitness or Golds (~$40 per month but keeps rising). Long read but hereās an honest overview from a 30 y/o male that typically attends before 12p: -Very basic gym. About 60% cardio machines, 20% resistance machines, 20% free weights. On any given day, around 10% of equipment is Out of Order/broken and takes awhile to get fixed. Everything is very outdated. This LA only gets second-hand equipment from other locations. -Staff is friendly, though they never police the gym to enforce re-racking of weights or gym rules, so naturally the gym is a mess and clientele abuse this (i.e. donāt clean up after themselves, put equipment away, play their own music outside of headphones, etcā¦). Iāve never seen a gym with staff that doesnāt even patrol their gym. The custodian is the hardest worker here, yet due to the age of the facility and equipment they cannot keep up with an acceptable cleanliness standard. Most of the gym is lined with gross carpet from forever ago (think Dollar Tree carpet). There are frequent leaks in the ceilings especially in the Mens locker room which they just re-patch the wall and use fans to dry for days at a time. -The smoothie bar hasnāt been operational in forever, the vending machine has been removed, and the kids center has been removed. This location is CLEARLY struggling, so I wish that LAās corporate offices would intervene and fix this location. I would love to see this gym be even...
