IHOP — Restaurant in Maryland

Literally one of the worst dinner experiences we have ever had. The only thing that this IHOP has going for it is that it is modern and new. Beyond that, it was awful. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. The restaurant was only half full and had nearly 10 servers working, most of which were standing around playing with their cell phones. After a carousel of what seemed like 3 different servers arguing over who would take care of our table, we finally got one.

This server was extremely unprofessional and from the start seemed to be high on some kind of drug. Once we placed our order, she came to our table, and very loudly acted out that she was stepping out to call someone. A co-worker of hers went out with her so it does not seem that she went to call anyone. After 10 minutes of our server missing, I finally got another server to refill our drinks. She finally came back in and seemed to be much more "mellow." I have no idea where she went or what she did but i highly doubt that she made a phone call.

While waiting for the food, the staff who seemed to be bored kept coming to our table and interrupting our conversations for no apparent reason. When we finally got our food (40 minutes after being seated), everything seemed to be ok. It was not that bad, my wife then found what looked like beard hair in her crepes. The eggs and hash browns tasted like the were cooked in old oil. There was so much commotion in the kitchen for whatever reason and our server again disappeared for 15 minutes.

We could not get the check soon enough to get out of there. Then, when we finally got outside, some kitchen staff were outside horsing around and yelling profanities on top of the parking garage by a vehicle with a black bag and an empty beer can laying next to it.

Needless to say we will NEVER return to this location and i would suggest that you not waste your time either. 0 stars would have...

So today June 24,2025 is my Birthday. To my surprise my best friend called and said she was taking me out for breakfast. We arrived at the I hop on Washington Blvd . Upon arrival the restaurant wasn’t full at all. We asked if we could change seating because I wanted a window seat. We were told that the other section was closed. We then order our drinks and meal. The drink I ordered was supposed to have strawberries and pineapples on top of it (it didn’t) . When I asked was it the correct drink, I was told yes it just didn’t have the fruit. Not that they were out of fruit , just that it didn’t have it. I assume that meant it was out . Fast forward our food arrived, at this time we had food but no utensils. So yet something else we had to ask for. Food was delicious. Arrived in a good amount of time and hot. As we sitting enjoying our meal, another family arrives and sits right next to our table. I noticed once their drinks came out they ordered the same on as I did. “Guess what” Yup theirs had the fruit. When I questioned this, I was told their drinks was made from the front of the kitchen and mine was made from the back. So you mean to tell me you couldn’t go to the front of the kitchen to get my fruit for my drink? This instantly Irritated me. How do you determine who gets their food from the front of the kitchen and who gets their food from the back. This was supposed to be a special time for me and my best friend on my birthday and the Customer Service I received here was unprofessional and unpleasant. I’m not sure if the server Kaitlyn had a bad morning or what was going on. However she was not on her a game...

I visit this IHOP every now and then and have always gotten excellent service. But this time: The Restaurant was empty. We had to stand and wait for somebody to come see us to our table about 10 minutes. Then we ordered drinks. I ordered coffee. I asked the waitress for utensils which she hadn't given to us upon seating. She told me she was going to bring them to me when the food came. I told her what am I supposed to stir my coffee with there's nothing else on the table. We waited about 20 minutes for our food when she comes to us and tells us that somebody else was given our order. I don't believe that 4 people in the same restaurant at the same time ordered the same thing. I believe that the waitress never put our order in. Now we have to wait another 15-20 minutes to eat our food. In the meantime, the family that came in behind us still didn't have their meal when we were walking out the door. So I'm sure they waited at least a half hour. Also as we were leaving, I asked the elderly couple that had been waiting to be seated how long they were waiting, they said 10-15 mins. As I said I've never had an issue before but this was terrible I don't know what they were doing back in the kitchen that no one was tending to customers coming in the front door. Cearly the service was unacceptable. The Manager clearly is not on point if his employees are not up to par. 3 stars beause the food was good when we...
