Trudy's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Arvada

I am very much upset. I placed nearly $300 worth of star wars and star trek ornaments on layaway at Stacys Hallmark Shop #5 at 5111 Kipling street #500, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. I picked up my purchases on 12/02/2017. When I got them home was setting up everything I noticed the Magic Cord (Which I was told I needed for the Jedi Set) didn't have the proper connections. So I called the store to see what the issue was and I was told I purchased the wrong cord, I should have purchased the Power Cord. Since it was after 5pm and I live over 30mins away from the store I figured I could come the next day (12/03/2017) to return and purchase the "Power Cord". Upon doing the return I was told the last "Power Cord" was sold yesterday. The person told me I would have to order the cord from the Hallmark website. So I just purchased a $8.95 "Power Cord" and now it has cost me over $17.00 due to shipping and the gas wasted going to and from the store. I have been purchasing Star Wars and Star Trek Ornaments from Hallmark since 1998 and this is the first time I have ever dealt with this kind of issue. Went into the now Trudy‘s Hallmark in Wheat Ridge, which used to be Amy’s on December 31 to return some Christmas gifts, for a store Credit. was turned away and told that they would no longer take seasonal returns after 27th of December. How would a person receiving a gift know of such an insane return policy that they only have two days after Christmas to return something. Absolutely ridiculous policy when your whole store is seasonal, I can walk in there and there is Christmas stuff everywhere that I could have bought today, but you would not take this return! You can’t go to the store a lot of the times they’re not open. Their hours are never right or they just don’t have enough people to work, not sure which I’m sorry but the owner or the manager then needs to be there for hours listed on the door! will never shop there again and would never recommend anyone going to a Trudy’s Hallmark because they don’t stand up to Hallmark’s practices! They didn’t even offer to take the item at 50% off and give me a store credit, nothing just turned me away flat what six days after Christmas some people cannot get there the day after Christmas to do a return. horrible place and policies will never shop there again nor will...

This is a wonderful store. There is a great selection of Hallmark ornaments, cards, gift wrapping materials and gift items. The store carries many other gift items, generally more suited to women and children. Staff members are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Standouts are Jon (the owner) and Barb. They sincerely greet you and want to help every customer find the perfect gift for that special someone. Jon will also check around if you need a specific ornament and they do not have it in stock. Barb has such in-depth knowledge of current and past Hallmark merchandise. If you bought the light up Gingerbread Cookie Jar two years ago and want something to go with it, Barb will help you hit it out of the gift-giving ballpark again. She's awesome.
