It's interesting to me that everybody have such positive things to say about this bookstore. I was picking up a prescription down the street, what happened to park right in front of this bookstore. I ended up having to wait quite a while for the prescription, and talked on the phone in front of this place for over a half hour, instantly making up my mind and maintaining it throughout the half hour long conversation and I was going to go into that bookstore, love it, and come away with some buried treasure. I made the mistake of asking whoever was at the front desk, I'm honestly not sure if it was the owner, if they had anything that could be considered occult literature. I did not ask about Atlantis. This woman proceeded to tell me that everything related to a cult literature and specifically the Atlantis myth, if you dive deep enough, can be tied to white supremacy. I understand the white supremacist lens much of occultism was filtered through in the 20th century, but a large part of that was done intentionally. Occult simply means hidden, and what better way to hide something in plain sight, then to have people automatically associate an entire collection of literature what's something as heinous as the white supremacist movement. When I rebuttaled her statement by asking if she thought a book written by an Indian named Swami Panchadasi would be considered tied to white supremacy, she said, "I know the air conditioning is very loud in here, but I was saying that Atlantis is tied to white supremacy" Even if that's what she was saying, it would still be very inaccurate. I'm talking about the Kyballion by Three Initiates, The Human Aura Astral Colors and Thought Forms by Swami Panchadasi, and books like that... I WAS TREATED VERY RUDELY FOR ASKING IF THEY POSSESSED A KIND OF LITERATURE. IN THE QUEST FOR KNOWLEDGE NOTHING SHOULD BE OFF GROUNDS, AND NOTHING SHOULD BE PIGEONHOLED WITHOUT DOING OUR OWN RESEARCH. I read a lot and would have spent a lot of money in this store if I wasn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a GOOD review type person, and am all for local businesses! Today as a solo, female bike rider I was excited to see a book store that I have never noticed before as these are rare commodities these days. I saw the owner standing outside a little before 11. I cheerfully asked her if this was a used bookstore (I love used books). The simple question seemed to spark an INTENSE anger in this woman with whom I inquired and It was surprising as she engaged in a pitbull lock of AGGRESSION claiming SHE WAS NOT OPEN YET (repeated several times) AND that my question was āconfusingā as it was both a new and used bookstore she yelled. I said thatās okay I wonāt be coming in anyway and rode off on my bike as she screamed down the street not to worry as I WAS NOT WELCOME IN THERE!!! I mean wow wow wow, never had a situation before where a friendly, polite, potential customer asks a business owner what type of shop they have and received such a VIOLENT reaction. Good luck to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI saw this place from across the street and Iām very glad I found it. They have many books down to classics, fiction, non-fiction, new and thrifted books that have been loved before (and in still good shape) collectors items and more. They help support to her small businesses as well as being one themselves so the sense of community is very refreshing now a days. Also dope music, I find the vibes AND prices are MUCH better than Barnes and noble. 100% recommend. Helped my...
