I’m in love. Plain and Simple. The food here is incredibly good. Let’s start with the pizza. I grew up eating the famous Luigi’s pies in Wanamassa. This is that recipe on steroids. The old original Luigi’s is no longer but we have the protege from Luigi’s, The Galleys Owner Kris Black making the pies here. He’s improved the original square Luigi’s pie! My goto Sunday pie which I ate religiously from Luigi’s all my life is a green pepper and meatball. His version is on another level. All the meats are from the best butcher around Pat LaFreda’s. So these meatballs are the best ever. The sauce the cheese the crust. It doesn’t get any better. The other night I had the OG Sausage and peppers pie. Same deal, another level. My kids are happy as they grew up eating Luigi’s plain pies. Not only is the pizza the creme de la creme but the wings are insane too and I had the cheesesteak. Absolutely amazing. Mouth watering good. I had one the first time i came in but I overwhelmed myself initially with all the food we got that day. To just savior this on its own. Wow. I was / am so happy. It was so damn good. They have all my favorite foods! I love French dips which this to me is. The real au jus with the fat. Oh baby! That prime rib is heavenly. Oh and their fries! No joke the best fries I ever had ! They also have a Pat Lafredas burger blend short rib, brisket, chuck with aged cheddar. They know what they’re doing. Real cheeseburgers are made with cheddar not fake American cheese lol. The burgers here are great too. To me this place is heaven on earth. All my favorite foods done with the finest ingredients by the finest people. The finest people being the Black Family, it’s a family affair .. You’ll find the entire Black Family helping out here so having this amazing food made from the heart by a local family business makes this food taste that much better. In the famous words of The Carpenters We’ve only just begun! I can’t wait to try the entire menu which includes some great seafood. Kris is also a local boat Captain hence the name The Galley! He sources some amazing fish specials and they have a lobster pizza too. Looking forward to trying that one soon. How do I know all this about this place you ask. I only started eating here two weeks ago, lol when you know food is this good you keep coming back and like a magnet takes to steel you take it all in. These folks are now my friends in the couple short weeks I’ve been coming here. Great folks! But The Galley is definitely better then steel they are 14 karat Gold! Try them they won’t disappoint and you’ll Make some new...

Read moreSad that I have to put a review before a place is even open. A lady setting up chairs for the soon to open shop, gave us a hard time about parking in front of a store that isn't even open for service. We did not even have a chance to shut our car doors before she told us we could not park there and the police would be coming. A sign directly in front of where I was parked said 3 hour parking from 8am-6pm. The current time was after 4pm. We felt lucky to find a spot to park, considering 35,000 people along with us flooded the town for the sea hear now festival. My sister went to get us a drink a few doors down in the same shopping strip at a coffee shop. She asked the gentleman about the parking situation and he said she was fine and thanks her for buying drinks. On our 25 minute walk to the asbury park boardwalk, I spoke with the first police officer I saw. Explained the situation and showed him a picture of the sign, and he said we were fine and not breaking any laws. He also said it's sad that she gave us a hard time, especially with the festival being so big their was plenty of overflow for people to be supporting local business! and that we did, today we went back to the coffee shop for our morning coffee. I hope the pizza shop can learn a little about customer service from their neighbors with the very busy...
