My wife and I live in Columbia SC and planned a well needed trip to NC|||| When we arrived we waited for 10 minutes before we were greeted by an elderly Indian woman. She gave us a key and sent us on our way. (We must have interrupted her tv show because it was not a warm welcome)||||We dumped our bags off and left to get something to eat since it was a 3 1/2 hour drive. When we returned we noticed how disgusting it was. ||||The bathtub was dripping heavily and the tub was brown, the air conditioning/heater unit was filthy, the blankets had cigarette burns all over it, the bedside table had razor blade marks from a past resident doing cocaine( I assume), the window didn't lock and had a hole cut out of the screen, the only lock on the door was a half secured chain lock, also there was a huge gap where the door didn't close all the way( It was supposed to snow the next morning), not to mention what looked like bug or mouse poop on the front table. Lastly, when we wiped off the toilet seat the toilet paper was black.||||We asked for a refund but the lady said no because we had been there for 2 hours, though we were only actually in the room for less than 30 minutes. She said had we asked after 15 minutes she would have given us one. We didn't see a sign informing us about their refund policy but then again we weren't looking. The price was $49 including tax for the one night. Save yourself the trouble and find...
Read moreI decided to try this one because it had the absolute lowest-price of any motel in the area, and this section of Tunnel Road is full of small, cheap motels. This motel is very conveniently located to an exist on 240, and is near a number of restaurants and stores.||||We found that the rooms definitely met all of the "basic" requirements of the cheap traveler. The room itself was very clean, no bugs or pests. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the bedsheets and towels were clean and worked well. The room had everything we needed, and everything worked, including a mini-fridge and microwave. The TV worked well, and the free Internet connection was fairly fast and stable- I had no trouble at all connecting to it. The room was reasonably-sized, and had everything we needed.||||The area was very quiet, and there was no noise. There were also surprisingly few cars in the parking lot, despite a number of people staying in the motel. Some of these people may be a bit scary, but our room did have a good lock which the owner promptly fixed when we found a problem, and we kept all the valuables in the room as you should do when staying -anywhere-. None of these other people, which can ruin the experience at some motels, bothered us at all.||||Overall, this was a great deal, and we had no problems at all with it, and will likely stay again on...
Read moreThe accommodations are not nearly worth the price they charge. They strictly prohibit anyone from having any guests and are very quick to pull all kinds of shady moves to make a dollar even if it's wrong how they do it.
My experience: My friend had a room here he no longer needed and offered to let me take it from him for half price of what he paid. I jumped right on the opportunity. I had no problem that night and woke the next morning and was asked if I would be staying for another night. I went to the office and gave them almost $80 for one night and then left to go run errands without having them reset the key to my room. When I returned to the motel I stopped by the office to have my key reset and was stopped by the staff and told I would not be allowed to stay in the room that I had just been allowed to pay for a couple hours prior because the room was not in my name. I can understand the whole registration issue. But why would you let me pay for the room knowing it's not in my name just to kick me out. That is the absolute definition of...
