Title: Mixed Experience at Red Lobster in Asheville, North Carolina
My husband and I recently celebrated our 7th year anniversary at Red Lobster in Asheville, North Carolina. While the food and service provided by our waitress/greeter were exceptional, we unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the manager, which overshadowed an otherwise pleasant evening.
As residents of Asheville, we have come to appreciate the diversity and equal opportunity that the city offers. However, during our visit, we observed a display of biased behavior from one of the managers. Despite having four families dining in our area, the manager approached every table except ours, seemingly avoiding any interaction with us. This made us feel unwelcome and left a sour taste in our mouths.
We believe that a restaurant's management should reflect the values of inclusivity and genuine hospitality. Unfortunately, the two managers we encountered failed to meet this expectation. Despite giving them multiple opportunities to acknowledge our presence and greet us, they deliberately ignored us, which was disheartening.
It is important for businesses to foster an environment that welcomes customers from all walks of life. As a black couple with dreadlocks, we had hoped for a positive experience that mirrored the diversity we appreciate in Asheville. Regrettably, Red Lobster fell short in this regard.
While we cannot fault the food or the service provided by our waitress/greeter, the biased behavior exhibited by the managers left a lasting negative impression. As a result, we have decided that we will not be returning to Red Lobster in the future. We would rather dine at establishments where we feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated.
We hope that Red Lobster takes this feedback constructively and addresses the issue of biased behavior within their management team. It is crucial for businesses to uphold the values of inclusivity, equal opportunity, and respect for all customers. We believe that by doing so, Red Lobster can create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons, regardless of their background...

There was very little people in the restart, waitress unknown name came got our drink order, returned quickly, then we wait 20 minutes to place our appetizer wait 20 to 25 mins to receive it no drink refills within this time glasses was left empty even after requesting more drinks I had unsweet and my wife had sweet tea we finish our appetizer and wait and wait and wait we ordered endless shrim with our appetizer she then comes back almost falls bringing the food she then pours my cup full of sweet tea and my wife’s unsweet after she asked me if mine was unsweet I responded yes we eat our entree and ask for the next round of shrimp and brings refill for our drinks does the same exact thing as previous both times only filling halfway full and brings receipt in the butter of the receipt then reaches in and grabs it. So I request the bill at this point we finish our food and still waiting on the bill she finally brings it I have a 25 dollar gift card i received for Christmas and gave her a 100 dollar bill she then yells across the restaurant if i needed change i said yes mam i do so she brings it back counts it three times and says im sorry i shorted you I say that’s fine keep it was only 1.25 i leave another dollar (I always tip 25 percent of bill unless service is very crappy) multiple tables was very disappointed with her service so we walk out and waitress comes yelling at us in the parking lot so I go back in spoke with manager forgot her name but she was extremely nice and professional handled the matter accordingly I believe the waitress name was marry so if you visit here and get her...
Read moreI'm giving 3 stars because our server was EXCELLENT. We dined a bit late on Friday, Aug 19. I was hungry, but not ravenous, so I didn't want a ton of food. The server explained a special that would allow me a lobster tail & a side. I picked a loaded baked potato. With the bread, this was more than adequate. My husband had a larger appetite, so he ordered a regular meal. He had bottled beer, I ordered a hurricane. Our drinks came out first, which is normal. So far, so good. However, that was the worst cocktail I have ever been served. It was barely mixed & the alcohol just sort of settled in layers over the mixer. I stirred, used the lemon slices that came with our water, squeezed the extremely mushy orange garnish into the drink... eventually, I was able to get it to a drinkable state.. I have just over 30 years of bartending experience; I would have been embarrassed to serve that. I should have sent it back, but honestly didn't want to wreck the mood. Once the food came out, the lobster tail was grilled perfectly. It wasn't the least bit rubbery or overcooked. My potato, however...overdone, mealy & flavorless, despite the toppings. Our server was sweet, attentive & knew her menu. The floor manager that was circulating gave off an unapproachable vibe & gave me some serious evil eye when I attempted to get her attention. I heard her tell the other server that she didn't have time to mess with whining customers. So there's that...we were discussing dessert until we heard that. Kind of a mixed bag of an evening. More good than bad, but still some distressing hiccups. Not sure we'll return to this location as it has a pretty bad reputation...
