We worked with Angie, who was initially very helpful and kind. Once we had chosen the rug, she was getting it ready to go home, when she became aware of a tear in the rug. She assured us that it would be fixed and that it could be done by the following day. She asked us to pay for the rug, which we did, and she would contact us the following day, which was a Monday. I never heard from her the next day and had to call around 4:30 pm that evening to see what was going on. She told me that the lady who fixes the rugs didn't come in that day and she makes her own schedule and comes in when she feels like it. We had our furniture being delivered on Wednesday and I told her that I would really like to have the rug before that. She told me she would be off the next two days, but John, the store manager, would contact me about my rug the next day. On Tuesday, I was not contacted and had to call again around 4:30pm to see if my rug was ready. I spoke with John, who talked to the woman who was fixing the rug, and was told it wouldn't be ready until around 3:30 pm on Wednesday. John told me that usually they don't promise such a quick turn around on the repairs, but honestly at that point, I didn't want to hear his excuses. He looked for the same rug in another warehouse, but was unable to find the same one. He offered to take $100 off the rug and have it delivered the next day. They were able to deliver the rug by 5:00 pm on Wednesday and the men helped move my newly delivered furniture. Overall, it wasn't a very pleasant experience. John did his best to make it right, but hearing the excuses was frustrating and...
Read moreTerrible company. It pains me to write such a bad review but it is a must so that others can know to stay away. Rug & Home is not good to work for and not good to buy from. The employees backstab and blatantly lie—to you as a fellow employee and as a hassled customer. Dedication and thriving doesn’t matter in your position. It’s all a petty game. The store is terribly designed with a bland aesthetic—crammed with hodge-podge unrelated items. They want to make ordering a big thing but they don’t train it well or know what they are doing with it. People want instant gratification not lies and transferring of torn and damaged rugs sold as new. I read another review and it is true—a lot of the “good” reviews they have are written in-house or forced upon for discounts. They are known as a bad company to buy from and work for—especially the Asheville location. I sold a single unreturned rug for nearly $15,000 (the most beautiful in the store)—they got jealous (because it is commission based) and I was fired shortly after. Citing lies such as a return rate—when I sold over a stable $50,000 in a month—one of the most in the store and the fastest rising. Jealousy and games and lies and backbiting. As a shopper this should tell you their money driven mindset....
Read moreThe worst store EVER!!!! First they sold me a defective carpet. Then when I went to return during first 7 day no questions adsked return policy, they had the nerve to rell me returns did not apply to items bought on house credit (Synchrony). They accepted the return after I made it clear they had no choice since they failed to inform me before I made the purchase. I also bought $1600 worth of furniture that was back ordered. After almost 2 months of waiting I was told the furniture would be in around 3 more weeks. So I said fine. The next day I discover they have already submitted the purchase to Synchrony even though product was never delivered. Synchrony tells me I owe a late fee even though I never received a bill. I am waiting for this store of incompetents to call me back since they only want to make a sale and do not care less about the customer afterwards. What a SCAM!!! Do not go there. Do not make a purchase. You will regret it. They sell defective carpets. They try to get paid for product they never delivered. Hard to believe one company can be this bad. BEWARE, BEWARE,...
