Dollar General — Local services in Ashland

Dumbest and rudest employees to run the store ever!! Customers arrive at the store and walk in. An employee says we're not open yet sorry. I tell her really (at a confusion), cuz the lights are in and both front doors are wide open. She says, no our lights are not on and we don't open till the lights come on. Myself and another customer both look up and see lights on. I pointed up and tell her the lights are on. She says, no all the lights are not on. She was exactly right ... The lights for her were not all on more were the teeth in her head in. She made us go outside and wait so she could come outside, tie a balloon into a table out side and then said "ok u came in now" 🫨 The music in the store is too loud, it's like going into a concert. They are rude....

Cashier was beyond rude on 4/16 around 10 AM. I went in literally to buy gum. That’s it. She saw me come in and go to the register. I pressed the button once, then nothing. I waited long enough that I was considering just leaving the money and a note of what I bought on the counter, before pressing the button again. She appeared behind me and angrily said “I’m right here!” I was the only person in the store. I said “I’ve just been waiting awhile so I thought I’d try again.” Not in a rude tone or anything. The rest of the transaction was silent. Before the door could shut when I left she goes, “I swear to god people today.” Should’ve at least made sure I couldn’t hear you before complaining that I wasn’t a total ray of sunshine after waiting 10...

I recently visited this Dollar General store and had a very frustrating experience. I presented a temporary Ohio interim documentation identification card to purchase alcohol, as my permanent ID is currently in the mail. To my surprise, the cashier refused to accept my temporary ID, citing company policy. This policy seems unreasonable and discriminatory, as temporary IDs issued by the Ohio BMV are valid forms of identification. It's disappointing that a well-known retailer like Dollar General would have such a restrictive policy that inconveniences customers. I will be reconsidering my future shopping at Dollar General locations due to this...
