I don't usually shop at Target but earlier that day I was looking up on line several toys and electronics as prospective Christmas presents and I noticed that Target had alot of the things on my list on sale and also offered a 5.00 savings if you made a purchase online and your purchase was 50.00 or more. Although I did not make my purchase on line I decided to just go to Target and look for a Gift card for my Grandson...keep in mind it to was available online as well but there were so many to choose from I need some help so I thought I would just go to the store. With that said I met a young lady by the name of Bridget and I have to say she is the most helpful person I have come in contact with in a very long time. This young lady aproched me in one of the toy isles and asked me if I was finding everything OK and if she could be of any help. I had my phone out and was looking up the toys I needed on my list and cross checking the prices...and so I explained that to the young lady..she then tells me of an application called cartwheel. By the way its amazing! I am a very careful spender and I do love a good sale ,coupons, discounts and incentives. I'm very thrifty. With that said Bridget say to me this application will also help you to see if we offer any discounts on the items you find or are interested in, she goes on to showe how to find it and helps me to download the app.But for some reason my data connection was to week so I showed her the message it gave me...and I said I probably don't have enough memory... But the she tells me to try to use the WiFi....in Target that's for guests!! Amazing! So I did and it worked and then not only was I able to download the app but Bridget shows me all the cool things I can do with it to enhance my shopping experience. At this point I'm so intrigued by the time for one that Bridget has taken to help me and all her knowledge she has shared with me about Target and the app that I am thinking that this young lady is special and she is definitely on her way to management or even higher like CEO because she has been so helpful and has shown such assertiveness and knowledge of her job and beyond and just when the story you would think comes to a close she gives me another huge piece of information! She asks if I have seen Targets toy book.I'm astounded at this point so she goes to the counter pulls one out tells me all about it again in detail no rush or hurry and so very pleasant. In my conclusion to this review is I have been going to other stores for years to do my holiday or everyday shopping but after the experience I have had with Bridget I can say that I will do the shopping I have to do at Target from now on...I give alot of credit to who is in the hiring position as well because you have truly picked an outstanding young lady to work and represent your store and the Target company... Signed a new faithful customer recruited by Bridget!! Happy Holidays! And many many thanks to you Bridget for your outstanding customer service!! ...
Read moreThe cashiers at this store are generally always friendly. However, the supervisors are always extremely rude when I have had to deal with them, even though I am always polite.
The first instance was when Target was running a promotion on something, and I price matched the item from Walmart to get it a little cheaper. I have done similar things at other Targets, and they had no problem doing it, and were even enthusiastic that I was getting such a good deal. It lets them do it, and it met the requirements for the promotion. However, this supervisor at the Athens Target was annoyed that I was getting the item for such a good deal, and was very rude about it. First, she rang it up, saw the discounted price, and tried to play it off like she didn't notice, and then re-rang it up for the price without the price match. I pointed it out, and she said "Look, you ain't gettin' it for that cheap. You can has one or the other, but I ain't about to let you do all that". So, I explained to her, politely, the details of the promotion, and pointed out that it let her ring it all up under the price that I was looking for, and she just kept getting angrier, raising her voice to me and interrupting me. When she was getting out of hand, I told her that she could call corporate right then and ask them if I could price match and receive the promotion, and she decided that she could do it for me after all. She smugly gave me the item for the discounted price, and was still very rude about it all.
The second instance was when I was trying to find out the availability of a product that would be released the next day. I explained that I knew that I would not be able to purchase it until the release date, but I was wanting to know if they got the product in so I knew whether or not I needed to get their before they opened to get one. Again, I have done this at another Target in the past, and they let me know whether or not they would have the product to sell. This employee was rude from the minute she answered the phone, and said "Look, I don't know if we have it, and it I can't sell it right now anyway, so you'll just have to come by when we open tomorrow to see what we've got". I said thanks, and she just said "Yeah" and hung up the phone.
In these two instances, I was looking to purchase electronics. The first one was a game, and even though it was discounted, it still wasn't cheap at all. The second one was a console that costs hundreds of dollars. There was absolutely no reason for either of these supervisors to be rude about it, since all I was doing was trying to give them my business. Had I been rude to them, it would have been a different story, but that wasn't the case either time. The management at this store needs to get a grip on their supervisors and teach them how to...
Read moreThis store is ALWAYS hot (every target is like that), making shopping miserable, and making me not want to shop. I canât even go into a target in the winter because the heat is on so high.
Our local store is a mess and has been for over a year. I realize that they are remodeling and have been for the past year or so, but this is ridiculous. Aisles are filled with boxes, which has to be a huge fire hazard and violation.
The checkout process needs to be quickerâŚitâs been much slower than it used to be for a long time now. On this particular trip to Target: The debit/credit card chip reader at the register where we checked out (one of the only 2 open that werenât self-checkout) wasnât working. I had to insert, remove it and re-insert my card over 20 times. The head cashier was right by the register and knew that this was happeningâŚshe and my cashier told me to keep taking it out and putting it back in until it took my cardâŚthat itâs been doing that all day. I was a head cashier at a retail store once upon a time. I never wouldâve allowed that to happen all day, keeping customers waiting. They could have moved her to another register, replaced it with another machine, unplugged and plugged the machine back in to re-set it or called the number on the machine for troubleshooting. So many things couldâve been done, but they didnât seem to care at all and were so lazy about the whole thing. FINALLY, the head cashier came over (about 7ââŚshe was right there the whole time closing out the other registers) and did something on the register to re-set everythingâŚit took less than 15 seconds.
Note: I prefer to give good/positive feedback, but after every experience at this Target over the past 2+ years being a terrible one, I felt that this...
