Been shopping here for years for batteries, flashlights, and keeping the batteries replaced in my key fobs. I came in the other day to have a couple of key fobs get new batteries, and one of the young guys behind the counter started telling me about the new process for key fob batteries. Something like $18 for a one time battery replacement, and something like $20 for a lifetime replacement? Your gona replace my battery as many times as I want for life? What exactly is the policy for your "lifetime" battery replacement?
Now you want to charge me $18+ dollars to replace my key fob battery? For a $4 battery, and your 3 minutes of help, you want me to pay $18+ dollars???? I was planning to have two key fobs done, and that would have run me around $40!!!! When I questioned why this crazy change in the price I was advised they had been purchased by another company/person recently. So... it's not the same friendly place I counted on for years it seems. Whoever decided to take advantage of customers with the new key fob battery replacement process should be ashamed of themselves. Do yourself a favor, buy your key fob battery from Amazon or similar for $4, watch a YouTube video and replace it yourself before you lose $20 to this silly deal here. I wonder what other terrible changes have been made here... it's unlikely this is the only bad idea....
*updated to address owners response: A panasonic or duracell battery is the same "source, age and safety" as your products. Batteries plus is not the only place to buy quality name brand products so don't make it sound risky to by a key fob battery elsewhere, that's just silly. Sadly you did not address my complaint about $18+ to change a key fob battery. But then again, what COULD you say about...
Read moreI tried to get a new battery, and my key fob was destroyed.
I went to get a new battery put in my car key fob, which I have done a couple of times at this location in the past few years. The price increased to about three times what I paid before, but the employee said if I paid $4 more than the base price of $18, it’s a free “lifetime replacement,” so I went with it. He replaced the battery, I paid, and then when I went to my car, it wouldn’t work (normally the car recognizes the key fob is present and you can just open the door). I went back inside; there now was a different employee at the desk, and I explained what happened, so she put a different battery in. I went back outside, and it still wouldn’t work. I tried using the buttons on the fob and it would unlock the car, but the lock button didn’t work. The car would not recognize the key fob was present, and it would not start unless I used the backup emergency process of pressing the fob to the starter. The car has a consistent alert on the screen that there is no key present. When I told her again what was happening, the employee asked if this happened a lot, and I said this had never happened before. She just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. When I got home we followed some repair videos to take it apart and see if the buttons were misaligned, but it still doesn’t work. So I paid $22 to have my key fob destroyed, and now have to pay $200 to replace it. I’m beyond...
Read moreI dropped my Galaxy S5 and cracked the screen. I read the reviews from all the repair places in Athens and this seemed to be the most reliable. I called ahead and spoke to Jason. He checked to make sure they had my replacement screen before I drove in. I got there and they told me it would take 2 hours at most. When I returned my screen was replaced but now my back button was not functioning. They said they had ordered another one and I would have to bring it back so they could finish the job properly. So I was missing my back button for a few days. I returned to the store when they had told me to but the back button still had not arrived. They apologized profusely. So, a few more days without a back button. They called when the back button arrived and I went back over. They repaired it with no additional cost to me and gave me a small discount. The staff was very courteous, helpful and competent. I have had other cell phones repaired elsewhere and honestly I've never been happy with their work or attitude (CPR Mall of GA). Despite the small setback this Batteries Plus has earned my...
