Well my expectations were Way off. I was expecting prepreped fresh simple healthy food that you toss in a pan and cook quickly. That's not what I got. I got a very complicated recipe and a lot of fat. It came with a whole potato I was suppose to peel and grate --seriously. Add it with some grated squash that at least did come prepped- blot it all dry with a paper towel. Add beaten egg. Form in patties. Fry in a pan for 4-5 minutes per side then bake for 5-7 minutes. Can you see how many dirty dishes and time and aggravation that is and that's just for the side dish. The Pork comes cooked and frozen that goes with it. It looked and tasted like the sauce was mostly pure lard--pork fat. There was a also lot of fat in the pork meat. I thought the meat -also would be fresh not frozen. Havent tried the fish yet but it's also frozen. Don't know how that could be good. You still have to add your own salad if you want greens. Against my better judgement I did cook the squash potato fritters with the thyme and onion. How did it taste. Eck. So much better if you just roasted some acorn squash. I also sliced the tomatoes and added them to the pork and cooked. The pork that wasn't fatty was ok but couldn't eat it with all the fat in the sauce. I threw everything out. I couldn't even give it to my dog with all that fat it would have gone right to a case of pancreatitis and a several hundred dollar vet bill. The best thing I can say about this is it was all good for a great laugh. I can see it all played out in a Saturday...
Read moreThis meal kit service is so cool. The meals encourage me to eat healthier and encourage me to step outside of my comfort zone, since I'm a picky eater. Plus, since I'm just cooking for one, I always have some for lunch or dinner the next day. I love adding in a cookie and other local groceries to my order. So far, all the cookies are amazing. The meals haven't been complicated and I can edit them to suit my tastes pretty easily. The meals come in a nice, insulated bag that I can reuse, and they often throw in an extra freebie too. The downside is that the prices of the meals and groceries are higher than I would pay on my own. That said, on my own, I would be shopping at a kroger, not getting the locally made foods that G&G offer. I like that I can skip a week whenever I want to. I would totally recommend it to anyone looking to try a new meal kit service and has some wiggle room in...
Read moreLove their concept and selection. Over the past couple of years, they have stepped up their game with the quality of their produce. It’s good quality, looks good, and is generally pretty fresh. I also like their vegetable options, and some of the prepared and frozen foods, and the breads, many of which come from well known restaurants. With all that said, I do think that the pastries and cookies and brownies could use a little change; I’ve ordered two or three items and never been thrilled with them. I think some of the meats are a little pricey, but you are paying for delivery so you have to suck it up. Their delivery is reliable, and they text you a couple of times on delivery day. Customer service is pleasant and...
