Institut' DERMed Spa — Local services in Atlanta

At 55 years of age, looking in the mirror can be a bit disconcerting, especially when the effect of those years of suntanning start showing up in the form of discoloration, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles, I want to find a medical spa where I can develop a long term plan to look my very best and eliminate some of the sun damage incurred.  So many choices abound in our area that it can be confusing, but after researching the Institut’ DERMed website, I feel like they have an easy to understand program which will give me the results I seek. So, I made an appointment for their Buckhead spa location, and after my services, I can definitively state that  their spa services and skin care products are just what I was looking for!

Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted enthusiastically by the front desk team, and then I had a skin care consultation with Amber, the aesthetician, to determine what would be the best treatment for me. Amber decided based on my combination skin and desire for a more youthful glow and less discoloration, that the Level 101 Infusion Facial with a focus on Renewing was the best choice. Amber made me feel very comfortable during the pre-facial consultation, and her knowledge of the products and treatments impressed me. My facial consisted of cleansing, toning, a micro crystal polish, gentle brightening peel, soothing mask, serum and renewing moisturizer.

Since I received a $20.00 discount for having another service the same day, I decided on microdermabrasion as an enhanced service. First, we began with cleansing and toning. I asked about the necessity of toning, and one look at the residue on the cotton ball (even after the cleansing) convinced me that toning is a step not to skip! Amber explained how toners work and balance the skin.

The microdermabrasion, although an unusual sensation, was not uncomfortable, but it was thorough: Amber even treated the area behind my ears which gets discolored since I often wear ponytails! The facial peel was next, and I have had peels in the past which were pretty painful, and thankfully, this one was not. The products felt amazing on my skin! To create more of a balance between my facial color and chest area, I opted for the peel on my chest area as well. Later on, when I felt my skin, it felt velvety smooth and soft!

My favorite part was after the peels were removed, and the soothing mask was applied; it smelled minty and invigorating. The last steps were serum and moisturizer, and when I looked in the mirror, I looked and felt like a new woman! I didn’t have any sensitivity issues with the products, and my face did not get very red. I learned so much today about my skin, and the relaxing environment and incredible acupressure facial massage just added to my positive experience at Institut' DERMed. Following the services, there was no high pressure sales pitch, which I have had in other spas, but Amber took her time and answered all my questions and advised me which products she chose for my skin and why. She wrote down the selections and gave me an information sheet to follow. I left with a glowing face, feeling fresh and renewed. An Update- After 3 urgent care visits, missed work, pain and suffering with 4 months of skin issues and dealing with Lynn’s (owner of the salon) insurance that had no intention of covering any of my costs, I warn anybody going there that if you have any issues here, you will be left on your own as she does not care nor finds her salon responsible.

Worst spa experience of my life! What did they use on my skin? I have done facial procedures for 10 years and have never had such a reaction! Do Not go there because they will say that it’s not their fault if anything goes wrong. I got money refunded for microneedling procedure but their manager Jessica did not even apologize. I went there right after my appointment with a dermatologist who said that this was caused by whatever cream they used and it will take 7-10 days to go away and afterwards my skin will peel. I work in sales and I look horrible and they don’t care. And I had to take a day off work, pay $80 for dermatologist and another $45 for cream to...

Today I went in for the first time to get control of my acne. I went in and did a hydrafacial as well as dermaplaning... let me just tell you how absolutely INCREDIBLE Rutu Patel is! She was absolutely amazing and so very helpful! She took her time with me and explained everything she was doing just so that I was aware of what was being done and why! It was such a great learning experience! I am SO SO happy with my results already and will 100000% be back! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a positive change in their skin!
