Title: "A Vibrant Delight: My First Visit to Chopt Restaurant"
Upon stepping into Chopt, I was immediately struck by the vibrant ambiance—abundant natural light, ample indoor and outdoor seating—a perfect setting for a delightful meal. However, my initial impression was slightly marred by the lack of a warm welcome. Nevertheless, the menu quickly captivated my attention, particularly the enticing Chicken Tanga, Mexican-style dish.
My dining experience took a delightful turn when I met Shareeya (apologies for any misspelling), whose charming black-and-blonde braided hair added a touch of flair to her demeanor. Her warm smile and helpful demeanor instantly put me at ease. When I mentioned it was my first time and sought her recommendation on the Chicken Tinga, she confidently endorsed it, assuring me it was a fantastic choice.
Taking her advice, I opted for the warm bowl of Chicken Tinga, instructing Shareeya to prepare it exactly as she enjoys it. This decision turned out to be a stroke of genius! She recommended pairing it with the honey chipotle sauce, and oh my, was it a flavor explosion! The tender chicken paired with the tangy yet slightly sweet sauce elevated every bite to a new level of deliciousness.
While the initial lack of warm greetings might have been a bit off-putting, Shareeya's cheerful guidance and culinary suggestions more than made up for it. Her personalized touch and enthusiasm for the dish made the meal not just about food but about the experience itself. Upon checkout Marques was full of smiles, and energy. I love his personality too.
In conclusion, my visit to Chopt was a delightful adventure, filled with flavors that danced on my palate and an ambiance that set the stage for a memorable dining experience. With just a bit more warmth from the staff at the entrance, this place would truly be a gem. Nevertheless, I'll be returning for more of that heavenly Chicken Tanga and, of course, Shareeya's...
Read moreI have been going to this location basically since it opened. I have always enjoyed getting the warm bowls for dinner as a cheap, healthy, and filling option. I usually go for something with a chicken option, but tonight that was a big mistake. My experience tonight was one of the most disappointing things to happen to me while dining in Atlanta. I ordered a bowl containing the roasted chicken. I proceeded to receive my order and join my 2 other friends in the restaurant dining area. We went to get drink and one friend complained of the water having something “gritty” in it. I proceeded to get something from their fountain. One of the machines looked full of soap with no sign saying it was down for cleaning. So I proceeded to get some lemonade from the machine next to it witch tasted fine. We sat down to eat and quickly noticed something was wrong. The chicken was very pink! We looked through our bowls and found just about every piece was pink and gross looking in general. I went and asked why that was to the man who prepared my food. He seemed to be concerned after looking at the pot of chicken and called over who I presumed to be a manager. He stated to me that the “roasted chicken” used to be made in house but they have just changed over to getting it shipped in frozen and pre-roasted from an outside vender. I expanded how chicken should definitely not look extremely pink. He proceeded to say he would be more than happy to prepare me something else but by this point I had kinda lost my desire to eat at the establishment and explained that we will be going somewhere else. I never ask for a refund because I am sure that the decision to no longer have in house chicken was not his but I was also not offered a refund. Hopefully they switch back to their old way of preparing food because until then I will not longer be recommending this once fantastic...
Read moreAn unnecessarily frustrating first time at Chopt today. While we love the concept idea, the execution and customer service aspects were lacking.
We were handled by two employees, the first immediately giving the impression that she was rushed and very busy. With 5-6 employees not handling guests standing nearby without any visible tasks being accomplished, it made the harried employee pace and the long line behind us feel unnecessary. Further, we were not offered drinks or soups before our total was announced to us, both of which we would have ordered (which we felt compelled not to due to holding up the line building behind us). Finally, the second employee was alone in the salad building/tossing station (one station available out of four possible) and had four orders stacked behind ours while we were standing there - and again, with 5-6 employees behind her this felt unnecessary. For the record, both employees were polite and smiled, just busy and rushing - while others around them were not.
The food had mixed reviews from us - my Kebab Cobb salad was good but my fiancé's Cobb wrap was dominated by whole uncut cherry tomatoes that made eating the wrap a slightly exploding mess. With the amount of prep that is obviously done for this concept to work, not having this "chopt" as well felt like a miss. Everything was fresh as expected for this type of concept.
Ultimately, the customer service aspect made the experience unnecessarily frustrating. The bottleneck created by not staffing the salad building/tossing station created a secondary line after the first one just to order. The employees were rushed and created an environment that made us less likely to repeat visit. Recommending Chopt on this experience alone is difficult - unfortunately we will think twice before...
