I had the worst experience here. I had only had the membership for about a month, and they charged me the annual fee before I even had to the chance to visit the location, so I decided to cancel. This location gave me the run around. The manager (Moe) told me to come to the establishment and he could help me cancel. I show up and he is not there. Then the girl that was there (she tried to help) but she wasn't much of an help. How can you not be able to tell someone which club they signed up at? She told me it was Sebring which it wasn't because I called that location. Then she told me I would have to go to that location in order to cancel...which turned out to be a lie. I called this week and spoke to a very helpful young lady by the name of Grace. It's crazy how she was IMMEDIATELY able to tell me the location that it had me listed under. I live in Winter Haven, and I would NEVER select a PF that's in Plant City so how it put me there I am not sure but for some reason no one at this location could figure it out but Grace. I initially spent over 30 minutes standing at this location for the same answer I called for and got in less than 5 minutes. The customer service at this location is exactly why I am cancelling. Then they told me I would have to drive to the location and cancel or send a letter in....the manager in Plant City cancelled my membership over the phone in less than 7 minutes. If you don't want to help to the fullest capacity, then say that instead of wasting people's time. To the manager Moe...if you tell someone to come to the location because you will be there and then they come, and you are not there for whatever reason...then at least offer to follow up with the customers. The young lady called you while I was there and never did you ask to speak to me to apologize for the inconvenience, nor did you even try to follow up with me to help me get this situated. Grace you are amazing please train your other co-workers on how to look up other locations based on the location number. The cancellation process should be just as simple as the sign-up process when you take...
Read moreAfter belonging to Gold's Gym/Just Move for a few years, I grew really tired of a few things: Too many people and not enough machines. Also, I don't like being locked into a contract. So, off I went looking for an alternative. It just so happened that PF had an ad on tv that week saying that I could join up for just $1, $10 per month, and no contract. So off I went to check it out. The only people who wouldn't be able to get a full workout in at this gym are the pro bodybuilders. There aren't any true benches, and no true squat racks either. No full size barbells of any kind. There are however adjustable benches and plenty of dumbbells, so you can still do chest flies. Anyway, I don't want to rant about all of that because that's not why I go to PF. I'm a cyclist/triathlete. I go to do legs and run on days with inclement weather. They have exercise bikes and dozens and dozens of treadmills/elliptical machines. Most of the people I see in the gym are there for cardio, although there are plenty of other people working out on various weight machines, which again there are plenty of. This gym is large, extremely clean and very well run. After a few months of going, I changed my membership to the $21 a month deal, still with no contract. I wanted to take advantage of the aqua massage tables, massage chairs, tanning booths and be able to bring a friend for free. I can now also use any location in the country. I'm sure they're not all as clean and well run as this one, but it doesn't really matter. I'm not really a jet setter and I usually bring my bike wherever I go and get my workout in that way. If you want to take advantage of the no contract deal, just keep checking with them and join when they have that deal going. They also have free personal trainer assistance and lots of other workouts there, although I don't do any of that. Go check it out for yourself, my fingers are tired and I promise you won't be disappointed, unless your idea of the gym is grunting noises, people talking more than working out, and everyone staring in the mirror at...
Read moreI’m giving this location two stars instead of one solely because the morning staff were pleasant and helpful. However, my evening experience was completely different.
When we arrived in the evening, the young lady at the front desk was polite but seemed unfamiliar with the rules. We came in with three adults and one child (12 years old). Before signing up, I specifically asked if my 15-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son could wait while we trained. The young lady, who I later found out was in training, assured us that it was fine and even pointed out two areas where they could sit—one in the back with sofas and one by the entrance.
As we made our way to the sofa area, she suddenly called us back and said we couldn’t sit there because another staff member, Micah, told her it wasn’t allowed. I then asked if they could wait by the entrance, and she said yes. We proceeded with signing up for two memberships—one Black Card and one Classic.
However, just as we were about to start working out, Micah came from behind the counter and abruptly told us the kids had to leave. I explained that I had just confirmed with the other staff member that they could stay, but Maicah cut me off, refused to listen, and was extremely rude. At one point, when I was trying to clarify the situation, she outright dismissed me and said, "Goodbye, I’m not talking to you anymore."
As I write this review, she is openly saying that she doesn’t care what we do, whether we write a review, or even if we speak to her manager. This is completely unacceptable behavior. It’s clear that staff training is severely lacking, both in terms of company policies and basic customer service.
Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this location, and I hope management takes action to properly train their employees—especially in...
