I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Twisted Crab Auburndale, and I just couldn't resist sharing my delightful experience. If you're a seafood lover in search of high-quality, reasonably priced cuisine with a pinch of humor, look no further!
The Twisted Crab's inviting ambiance welcomes you in with open pincers, offering a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The moment I set foot in this joint, I knew I was in for a cracking good time.
The menu offers a diverse array of seafood dishes that cater to every palate, but the star of the show is undoubtedly their mouthwatering crab legs. Boasting an excellent balance of succulence and firmness, these legs were cooked to perfection and had me coming out of my shell with each bite. As for the rest of their menu, every dish is seasoned and cooked to bring out the fresh, natural flavors of the ocean, with prices that won't have you fishing for extra cash.
Speaking of prices, it seems that The Twisted Crab has recently stumbled upon a shipwreck filled with surplus Bud Light. Their selection is seemingly endless, and the prices are unbeatable! I'm pretty sure if King Triton himself threw a party, this is where he'd get his brews.
The service at The Twisted Crab Auburndale is top-notch as well. The attentive and knowledgeable staff were there to provide recommendations and ensure our dining experience went swimmingly. They definitely know how to reel you in with their charm!
Overall, if you're on the hunt for some fin-tastic seafood at reasonable prices, make your way to The Twisted Crab Auburndale. With a treasure trove of dishes, surplus Bud Light to satisfy even the thirstiest sailor, and a lively atmosphere, this place is truly the pearl in the oyster of seafood joints. Just remember to bring your best sea legs - or rather, crab legs -...
Read moreWe have usually gone to Lings Buffet in Lakeland for “ Chinese” food, but it’s a 45 minute one way drive for us. It has always been worth it when we had the urge, and we usually combined the drive to hit up something else in the area. Now that Asian Bistro has arrived, the drive is no longer necessary. The food is comparable, the selection (fried shrimp is better, has those good wings!) is similar and so is the cost and methods in the food taste and appearance. There is no hibachi grill here, but Lings doesn’t have that at lunch either. Its smaller seating area makes it feel different. Many people in a smaller space makes it feel off, but if you’ve ever been to Lings when it’s busy, you know what it’s like. Always someone not going “the right way”. Our first time was right at 5:30 so it was getting busy but we were seated immediately as it got busier. Suggest an off hour visit if possible to avoid any rush. We thanked the owner for opening and told him how it compared to Lings. He showed genuine appreciation for the comments. Price is virtually the same, so get water instead of a spendy soda. Beer is available. Desserts are a variety of items, with the only difference being the ice cream comes in cups or small ice cream sandwiches that include a sign “not to go”. It is definitely worth going and Asian Bistro has replaced the requirement to drive to Lakeland for Chinese. The new reviews should only be taken into consideration as they still include those from the previous restaurant. We will likely continue to go to Lings if we can include it when out that way, but it’s nice that this place...
Read moreparty of 4 ... 3 seniors and 1 adult ... total dining time: 1 hr ... outside temp 91 ... When we arrived, we were seated right away. In a back corner. After we started eating, it was getting warm in the area where we were. It seemed like any customers that came in were being seated on the same side of the restaurant. When we asked the server about the a/c, she laughed and said "no". Then we asked to be switched to another table. She then replied with "the buffet is making the heat. Moving will not do any good." Within 5 minutes, we could feel the cooler air being circulated. We all went up to the buffet twice, and before we went up for the desserts, the server brought the bill. And asked if we could pay right then and there. We politely replied with not yet. She kept coming back every few minutes asking us to pay the bill. Oh yeah, the a/c apparently got turned off again, because it was getting warm there again. Finally after several times of her coming and asking us to pay, we left our unfinished desserts, paid at the counter and left. We'll be thinking really hard about whether or not to come back. ** now I understand that the restaurant hasn't been open for all that long, but they have a lot to learn to keep the...
