Crazy high prices in this store! They always were on the high side, but now it's terrible. I shop their sales and that's it. Would love to support local employers but I can't afford to throw money out the window. Stopped in there today and many of the shelves were empty. I don't see this store lasting. There have been a few at that location that closed. They can't compete with Walmart and even they are going way down hill. UPDATE: 3/17/25 I just got back from this store! What an ordeal. Went to buy some cabbage for my corned beef. I normally wouldn't go near this store but I was in a hurry (haha). I picked up a rather wilted head of cabbage, went to the front of the store, and no one was at the registers. I asked the courtesy counter lady if she could check me out, "can't, I don't have a scale". So she had to call someone. Then I was told $1.49 for the cabbage (it was supposed to be on sale for $.59 a lb.) I handed her my United healthcare card. The girl says, oh, I don't know how to do this, I wasn't trained, I have to get a machine. So, she calls courtesy lady over. Courtesy lady doesn't know how to ring me out either. Then I stand around while she checks out other people. Then they moved me over to the courtesy counter. I stand there while they can't find instructions for how to check me out. (KJ's is the only store I have ever had a problem with) So they are looking around for "instructions" and I say I will just pay with my charge card. The lady says "you can do that, that's allowed" So I said "thank you for allowing me to do that" I don't have the weight of the cabbage, but when I got home I got a receipt with no weight on it, just $2.17. This whole ordeal took over a half an hour, with no one else in the store and overcharged to boot! No wonder no one shops at this store. I have seen meat in this store that was grey, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. NEVER AGAIN! They went from 3 stars to 1, they got the 1 point because I had to give them a...
Read moreThey inherit most of the staff from Bilo..so the friendliness and attentiveness is still there. Their salmon seafood ...hmmm needs a little more attention. Bought it twice and I couldnt cook it. No I didn't take it back..smell too bad to place in my car..😷.. I thought I seen a Deli staff with their slacks hanging off the lower part of their hips. Managers please dont be afraid to manage. We depend on you to keep the quality in every way that you can. We dont deserve to be flashed with 3 pairs of under garment and or that loud rude conversation in the kitchen.I must admit it that it's usually quiet back there..but boy somebody back is THE BOSS..and is probably not. . And I hope the smokers that flocks their cigarettes in the parking lot are washing their hands. For the most part I love going to KJ here. This one is one of the most organized in the city. The cashiers makes up for any uncomfortable experience with trying to be engaged. Except when the young adults congregate and talks about their coworkers and/or dating each other. I had to one time break up the convoe and remind them that I dont care if ** isn't speaking to you..just pull out that pack of porkroast that you packed in with the...
Read moreI am done shopping at this store! Today, I went to buy 1/2 gallon of skim milk. The containers on the shelf were all 3 days past expiration date, and 1 of them even looked separated and spoiled. Previously, in the past year, I have bought cheese, well within the expiration date, only to try to use it the very next day, and found out moldy. Another time, I opened up a freezer door, to see a giant cockroach fall down and continue running inside the freezer. I spoke with the manager about the milk today, and reiterated these other issues, and his answer was "well, we can't catch them all!" Sorry, but this is your job man! I never had problems like this when it was Bi-Lo, and I shopped there for...
