STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. There was an issue with my online order of a car battery and the store said since they didn't see it in their computer that there was nothing they could do even though my credit card was charged. After arguing back and forth for several minutes and the first employee telling me his hands were tied, a second employee came over and figured out a way to rectify the situation. They then offered to install the car battery for free (which is standard practice) and that way I wouldn't have to pay the core charge since they would take my existing battery right then. So the guy comes out with a couple of wrenches but nothing else. He removes the plastic battery cover and struggles to loosen the bolts securing the battery in place because it's in an awkward position of the engine bay. A socket wrench would have made this MUCH faster. Finally he gets the battery out and one of the terminals is slightly corroded. I ask if he can quickly clean it off and he tells me I would need the buy the terminal cleaning kit for $10. So I say sure whatever, I'll buy the kit. He then says "are you sure you want to clean it now, it works better when it warmer out." WHAT? I tell him yes I would, that's why I bought it. So I end up cleaning it myself. After, I went to wash my hands while he installed the new battery. When I came back my hood was closed and he told me I was good to go. After getting home I decided to quickly check the install and I'm glad I did because the plastic cover was just left sitting free in the engine bay and the bolts that secure the battery (that he struggled getting off) were only hand tightened so I could still move it around. I will never go to any of your locations again. I would have been better off going to Wal-Mart and that's...
Read moreI had gone to the Batteries + on Colorado Blvd looking to replace batteries in my lawn mower battery. They were out of the batteries needed to replace the ones in the battery pack and suggested I go to the Aurora store. I had gone to the Aurora store on a Sunday and the person that replaces the batteries was leaving for the day. I said I could leave the battery for them to replace the batteries and I would pick it up on Thursday and it would give them plenty of time to replace the 3 batteries needed. I pick up the battery on Thursday, it had my name on it and paid $160 some dollars and left with the battery. When I got it home I put it on the charger. An hour later the pack was not charging. I had a suspicion that the batteries were not replaced so I opened up the case and found all the old batteries. I paid for my old batteries! I immediately returned to the store and talked to Clint who was very apologetic and helpful and replaced the batteries. I again returned home to find that the charger would not fit the orientation of the battery. I called Clint and said I would return in the morning to have the batteries installed correctly. I did return in the morning and batteries were finally installed correctly! It took 5 trips overall to have the batteries installed!! It should have taken 1 trip!! UPDATE: Management reached out to me. They worked with me to my satisfaction. I appreciated the time and effort they made to make me a...
Read moreAVOID AVOID AVOID First, the "customer service" started off bad as soon as i walked inside with an ADA, Aurora-licensed service dog. The rep asked if he was a service dog, i confirmed and provided his tags. However I was told he must be wearing an "approved" vest. I decided not to question what an "approved" vest was but did inform the gentleman that a vest is NOT required by law and, I was just dropping off my phone quickly. Regardless, I was again told my service k9 HAD to have a vest on. I relented and went and put it on him and reentered. Now, after waiting for the additional 4 ppl who entered in the meantime, it was my turn at the counter with this gentleman. I made an attempt to bring levity by commenting on my trouble following directions to the store... no response. Well, I had an appointment for quick, "while you wait" phone screen repair that BATTERIES PLUS advertises. The gentleman tells me "no, it'll be at least 2 and a half hours because I'm here by myself".
Now I understand a one person shop can be difficult to manage on a weekend but WHY DO THEY ALLOW APPOINTMENTS IF NOT ACTUALLY AVAILABLE?
All in all... I'd rather pay more and go to a store where a) my business is respected and appreciated and b) the customer service is at least "average".
BATTERIES PLUS BULBS on S. Albilene is NOT recommended
Note: I will be filing a complaint with the company for discrimination against persons with...
